matina, sunny day up here . . . very quiet . . . ultra marathon seems to have finished. Have been watching my birds. Wonder if you're out and enjoying a pub lunch.

Katy, yes, we have a guy living up here . . . 'Blackheath Weathe'r is his title . . . who has been saying that we'll have November snow. Now I see that the ABC has picked it up too. I'll be ready with my iPhone camera! Tuesday or Wednesday . . . Hope you have a great day and enjoy your lunch!

HELLO ALL!
We are expecting severe weather soon and they say hail too, we are home now 86% humidity.
Kathy i used google maps and it talks to you too while driving but i also like looking at the map while driving as it tells you how close to a turn off you get to and you can see on the map the route your traveling and if your going to turn left or right so plenty of time to switch lanes if needed. Ive had more trouble with navman and tom tom maps than google as with google they actually have mapped it and you also get to research it before going and you get street views so you know your going the right way. yes on the way to Salisbury it did take us the long scenic route but it was great and i could see the blue driving line and had confidence i wouldn't end up in the marshes ;-) I suppose all GPS and google maps are as accurate as the satellite feed. I have a useless tom tom that at one time cost me $350 before google maps. I just need to get more savvy in picking the route i want, sometimes i do something on purpose as you hear re-calibrating makes me laugh but it has never gotten me lost yet;-?
PJ I hope those runners finish up soon so you get some peace and quiet.
we went out briefly for coffee at the pub and we are home now didn't want to get caught with hail.
be safe everyone and god bless and be with you all

matina, yesterday late afternoon I took a little walk around the bush in front of my house. Very quiet. No tourists and no ultra marathon runners! Hope you're OK today and will have a good week. Chatted with my niece in Maine last night, as usual, and got all the family news. All the grandchildren are in full Halloween mode! They do Halloween in a very big way around there, with pumpkin-making contests, costume parades, and special 'trick or treat' districts that are all decorated.

Katy, so glad to hear that you had a good outing with family on Sunday. That kind of outing would wear me out too. Fuzzies are well and my birds turned up on time for brunch. Good to hear about your granddaughter's interest in art. Yes, let's see if we really get some snow tomorrow or Wednesday. About 18 degrees here right now, and windy again.

HELLO ALL!
PJ nice pictures as always and like kathy said the in flight ones are awesome! and we know you are not over feeding them the one in the front right is sporting some very sexy legs and ankles rather than cankles    so glad to hear you are now back to your peace and quiet after the marathon folks acting like flaming galahs in the middle of the night
KATHY glad you had a nice day we too have had a quiet one at home.
getting a few things sorted as Satan stuffed up his ballot papers for the council elections he destroyed the purple envelope that you stick the ballot in and also the return address envelope i contacted the electrol commission lucky enough these ones are not mandatory so i changed the address they send his stuff to so at least i will receive them intact. :? :? :? i asked if he can be taken off the electoral roll they cant do it without a Dr signing a form. since he hasn't been to one for over 3 years no one wants to do it (other than when he went for his back and he has only seen that GP 2 times he doesn't want to sign the form. his other long term GP he hasn't seen in over 5 years, makes my life very difficult :( :( :(
any who that was my morning conversation.
time for coffee and to relax

matina, thanks for your Halloween greetings! My little grandniece and grandnephews in the US are gearing up for a fantastic day. In fact, they've already started attending Halloween events for children over the weekend. Still quiet here. Some rain on and off today, and now I'm worried about my lawn mowing tomorrow. But the forecasts say 'showers easing' and then 'temperatures falling to 3 degrees.' Snow? We'll have to wait and see.

Good night, everyone . . .

Sunnya and I sat outside on the patio for a while this morning, after the lawn-mowing team left. (Sunnya stayed underneath the stairs.) She's finished her late winter shedding and is now growing back her beautiful coat.

matina, what are you doing right now? Still having your scans? I think you're taking your mother to the optician too. I really, really ought to go and have my teeth cleaned and my hair cut. Have been putting it off. Anyhow, hope all goes well today

Katy, thanks for the beautiful Halloween cat! Sorry to hear that you had so much wind. It was windy up here too (and still is, today) but not too bad, at least by Blue Mountains standards. Sunny, then showers, now sunny again. The lawn-mowing team of three was in and out in 45 minutes, during one of the sunny spells.

Will sign off for now . . .

EDIT: matina, I just heard that it was snowing at Mount Bryan (in the Mount Lofty Ranges about 200 kms north of Adelaide). What's the weather like at your house?

matina, great hail pictures! We're expecting some possible snow here tomorrow, above 700 metres. (I'm at 945 metres.) Photo above, of my backyard, from a sunny period this morning, after the mowers left. You can see my blue toes at the bottom! Hope the scans turn out completely normal. Looking forward to a week without any appointments. Might try to get my hair cut. That should be relatively painless.

matina, my family in Maine seems to have enjoyed their Halloween. My grandniece always looks so serious in her photos. My grandnephew looks a little bit like my dear brother. And of course, my niece looks just like my mother, when she was 40. Anyhow, they've had lots of events for children organised in their town near the national park and now everything there is being closed for the winter. No more tourists. Probably like up here in the mountains during the heights (or depths) of the covid. Very peaceful but no money coming in. The PM and I are watching the birds out on the front deck . . . oh yes, I see now that Sunnya is watching too. She and I were sitting out in the sun on the patio earlier today.

Katy, it got down to 3 degrees last night and was very, very windy. But no snow! Still a chance today, I guess, but I'm not counting on it. A few dry days are all I ask! I couldn't stay outside very long this morning, so yes, it's a 'cuddle up with a blanket and a good book' kind of day. No appointments for me for a while, so I can take it easy. Those chocolate chip cookies look very, very good . . . but my cardiologist wouldn't be happy with me . . .

Bye for now, everyone . . .

matina, I forgot to mention that November 1st was my kittens' 7th birthday. We celebrated a kind of informal 'party' with special, expensive tuna (their favourite) and catnip. I also got the fire going for Sunnya, because she really loves a nice, warm fire. In addition, I manufactured some 'paintings' of my fuzzies, which I meant to post yesterday. Thought the one of the PM came out particularly well. Glad to hear that you got some new seat covers on sale. I don't use my car all that much, so it's remained in pretty good shape. Low mileage and service all up to date. Petrol tank is full. These days I only drive for a few minutes to either Katoomba or Leura Mall, unless I have (God forbid) a medical appointment down in Penrith. Still quite cold up here at present (though no sign of snow) and I might stoke up a little fire tonight with my remaining firewood and some free kindling I've retrieved from the local streets after our big wind storms.
