matina, here's a photo from one of the weather sites out west, showing Wednesday's snow in Oberon. Up to 11 degrees here today and a bit windy . . . feels colder, though. Might drive over to the local petrol station and pick up a couple of bags of firewood, just in case. It's nice when I can make a small fire for Sunnya in the evening. Saves a tiny bit on gas too. (50% rise over the coming year? Are they allowed to do that?) Otherwise, not much happening.

Katy, the portraits did could out reasonably well, especially the one of Rishi. Thanks for the birthday greetings. They seemed to take their 7th year in stride . . . 44 years old now, in people years. Younger than my son, who will be 47 at the end of the month. Hope you enjoy your lunch outing with your grandson today. Would love to see my own grandchildren. Am hoping they'll visit NSW in the not-too-distant future.

Bye for now, everyone . . .

HELLO ALL!
PJ nice pics as usual. about the price hike i am sure we will see a lot of folks homeless next year not able to keep up with all this inflation and cost of living (probably us being 2 of them);-( times are very tough indeed
KATHY I hope you had a great time out for lunch with your grandsons special needs class. I on the other hand had a dental appointment and youchy!! this time it hurt like hell my mouth and tongue was numb for more than half a day now it just hurts like hell but i needed to replace an old filling that was slowly crumbling away. had lunch at my aunties as it is her birthday on Saturday but we cant go we have a previous luncheon elsewhere so we had it with her today everything i ate was in caution and it all tasted like cardboard because of the numbing agent still in my system;-( we then came home picked up snowy who went to the vets for his third shot out of 4 to be had for his arthritis. we have just come home.
time to have a coffee and relax having company coming for dinner tonight.
easiest thing is yiros! a favourite for all of us.
be safe take care folks and god bless and be with you all

matina, sorry to hear about your dentist troubles . . . but it's over now and I hope you won't need another one for a long time. As for myself, I drove over to the new barber at Leura Mall (who is from Iraq) and had a nice haircut. Sadly, he charged me $30 instead of the $20 'pensioner cut' I expected. Then I filled up with petrol and got two bags of firewood while I was there. So that's that. Just now went out on the front deck and took some sunset and cockatoos photos.

Will sign off for now. Hope everyone is OK . . .

matina, here's a professional photograph taken out west of the mountains a few days ago. I think we'll have to wait until next winter for any further chance of snow around here. I know you'll have a busy day today. Hope everything goes well. I don't plan to go out but will enjoy a quiet day. I think my next GP appointment is only next Wednesday. Must check. I'm now starting my regime of BP checks every day, so I can report to him and (I hope) get a change in my meds.

Katy, hope you enjoy your family taxi-ing today. I sure would like to do that, once in a while. Come to think of it, I might try to give my son a ring today since I have plenty of time. Or, actually, I might text him and see if he's awake. I assume he's still working nights with his koalas. I should have checked with that young local barber before he started working on me, and asked him what kind of pensioner discount he offers. I just assumed that it would be automatic. I've heard the same thing . . . pensioner discounts aren't always available these days. Anyhow, I lost some money but he did a good job. There are several barbers around here and I might scout around for better prices next time. I think my previous haircut was only $20.

Lots of cockies and a few rosellas around this morning. Fuzzies are fine.

Bye for now, everyone . . .

matina, BP readings today were moderate. I'm following a 6-step process I found online, devised by an American doctor, which is designed to give more accurate readings for people like me who have the so-called 'white coast syndrome.' I'm never nervous about visiting the doctor or doing tests, but apparently, my body reacts and my BP goes up. The first two attempts at the 6 steps are showing lower readings, so I"ll keep it up until next Wednesday. My aim is to get my levels of medications reduced . . . and have fewer side effects.

Well, not much else to report. Another quiet day planned for tomorrow.

Good night, everyone . . .

matina, have a good day today. I know this is a busy week for you. It's the opposite for me. Not much is happening around these parts. Have fed my birds. The currawongs are now finishing up the old leftover cat food from yesterday. One cockatoo is still sitting on the front deck windowsill, with his face pressed up against the glass . . . watching me! Still hoping to talk to my son today.

Katy, my BP problem is that it seems to be too high even while I'm taking three different BP meds. That leads me to believe that it can't be right. Anyhow, will continue the 6-step regime today. Last night one of my readings was 134/66 . . . just about the lowest I've ever recorded since I was 25 years old! But all I ask is to get under the 140/90 threshold. Coolish here, but it was nice in the backyard for a while when the sun was out. My friend in Lithgow has lost his gas, along with everyone else out that way. Ever resourceful, he's now using a solar-powered camping shower!

Bye for now, everyone . . .
