Leura shop window . . .

matina, hope you can rest a bit today. I'm going over to the PO soon to pick up a parcel. Still working on my keyboard with the compressed air can sprayer. Made some small progress last night. External keyboard is just too awkward.

Katy, HMV! That picture sure brings back some memories. My grandmother died in 1970. Her only son, my uncle, actually owned the house and then married late in life. When he himself died in 1984, his widow called in a buyer who completely cleaned out two garages, no doubt for a small payment. So my grandmother's hand-operated sewing machine and wind-up phonograph went off to some antique place, nearly 40 years ago. I was allowed to go to my late uncle's bedroom and reading room and take a few things. My brother got all his papers and later mailed them to me. So life goes on . . . Have been waiting for weeks for my jade tree to blossom. I was told years ago that the Chinese consider it to be lucky.

HELLO ALL!
Nothing much to report here other than we went vegetable shopping and then came home. the geriatric committee hand delivered a letter to my fathers mailbox for Tuesday assessment. I haven't heard anything from him chances are he wont even see it. the waiting is more stressful than getting this over with and lord help us all of the fall out. lord give me strength to endure it all.
Monday we have yogi's follow up vet appointment for the last 2 weeks no issue with the back end stools are normal so hoping we can then start to introduce other things as he now is becoming fussy not wanting to eat turkey so we shall see what if anything happens on Monday ;-) i hope to make it to Wednesday.
be sfae everyone and god bless and be with you all
WOLF OUT!
P.S PJ send me a few of those jade trees i need all the luck i can get at the moment.

matina, here's a little owl for good luck! Hope you have a peaceful weekend. Not so cold here, and sunny. Rain due tonight, so I hear.

Katy, I'm amazed! That looks just like my grandmother's sewing machine! Thanks for sending that photo. Has made me very nostalgic. I remember visiting my grandmother's sister's house regularly and now recall that she had a old-fashioned, hand-operated water pump indoors, in her kitchen sink. No taps like we have today. This was a rarity even in the 1950s.

Quiet up here. Rishi and I have been napping. I think Sunnya is out in the backyard.

HELLO ALL!
I loved those old singer sewing machines mum had one and it was able to be amended with an attachment to become electric later on she sold it before we moved to the city i was and still am stroppy at her for doing that. It was a pedal powered one and then it was easily converted to an electric one, rare but solid machines they were awesome! these days you pay a fortune for plastic crap.
PJ love the cute little owl did you make him/her???
home day today for us and enjoying the quiet.
coffee time got a friend coming for dinner later be safe everyone and god bless and be with you all

Across the street from my house . . .

matina, how are you today? Staying home? Up here, it's a day for indoor activity. . . foggy, rainy, and about 9 degrees. I sat out on the patio with Sunnya this morning, under cover. But it was just too cold and bleak to be comfortable. Sunnya now has her full, fluffy winter coat, so she was OK. I can't remember where that cute little owl came from, but it must have been a gift, from years ago.

Katy, I also have lots of memories from the old days, from my grandmother and other relatives of her generation. My grandmother and grandfather (a sailing ship captain by the time he was 21) were both born in 1881, into a different world . . . not only with different technology but also with a completely different culture. I sometimes wonder what they would think of today's world. I suspect they would be totally agast! Have a nice, enjoyable Sunday . . .

Hello

Hi Pj i guess I was feeling a bit nostalgic my granddaughter was asking about my parents, my grandparents etc it started with a photo album I thought I lost :? so the age old question ,what was it like when you were young god I just felt ancient and remembered asking my nan the same thing  is that another painting of your mother's :? Wow 1881 it's nice that you can go back that far I wish I'd spoken to my grandmother more :? A lovely day ,coffee in the sun watching our market gardeners work hard :D is all ok with you :? Matina good luck with yogi let's know what the vet says xoxo one more cup then I'll finish the washing :D be well everyone god bless :D

matina, hope all goes well today with yogi's appointment. I have my own Woolies' order coming this evening after 7 pm. I've never used the 'click collect' option and enjoy having nearly everything dropped on my doorstep. But sometimes it's fun to stroll around the Leura supermarket, just for an outing. I just discovered that I have enough Fly Buy points for a Coles $50 gift certificate, but it has to be used in person, in the shop. Will eventually get over to the Katoomba Coles and use the certificate.

Katy, yes, I have to be very, very careful not to get too nostalgic. It's become more likely for me, since I lost my dear brother. I talk to his youngest (aged 40) every Sunday night and she tells me all the family news. Four children and four grandchildren. They're enjoying their summer now.

Rather cold and a bit rainy here right now. I think it was down to about 7 last night. Doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and then Rishi sees her vet for her regular blood test at 4 pm.

HELLO ALL!
PJ it was a humid night here after again a day of 22 degrees. I am still waiting for winter to rear it head.
KATHY yogi was a good boy, vet wants to start to reinstate chicken again and his puppy chicken and rice biscuits for 2 weeks alternating with turkey to see how he goes if he reacts it will be back on turkey till he will consider the next protein he will introduce to his diet either crocodile kangaroo or venison so we still have a hard slog in front of us before we can start to introduce beef lamb pork etc i told the vet he is probably part crocodile as he constantly bites and always has his mouth ready to snap and part kangaroo as he constantly jumps like one. so again we are now waiting for 2 weeks to see how he goes obviously still having access to his pro-biotics and pro kolin. otherwise all is ok he had lost some weight as he refused to eat anymore turkey the last few days, he preferred to forage (oh and eat his own poop) than eat turkey it was a hunger strike to behold!
I am super anxious about tomorrow and satans assessment by geriatric team (lord give me strength to endure and the protection we will all need from that man)
time for a relaxing cup of tea and to think on dinner
GOD BLESS AND BE WITH YOU ALL!

matina, that's good news about yogi. My kittens took more than six months to get settled on a suitable diet, and they've been good ever since. Sunnya has especially put on good weight and I hope tomorrow that Rishi will get a good blood test result and will have kept her weight or even put some on. Good luck tomorrow. Sending lots and lots of good wishes.

Cool and rainy here. Rishi and I just had a little nap. Will soon have the fire going . . .
