matina and Katy, I picked up all my sleep apnea testing kit and instructions this afternoon and will put everything 'on' tonight at midnight before I go to bed. It will be two weeks before I know the results, though. But now I hope that maybe a sleep treatment will actually help me. Katy, hope you had a good outing this afternoon.

Hi, all

My brother is arriving from the US on Tuesday, which means I have to do a thorough cleaning of the house before he comes. He’s going to go to China a couple of days later and come back a few days before our mom’s anniversary ceremony. I’ve asked my brother in Peru to bring me some Salsa de Ají Amarillo, which is a yellow/orange pepper indigenous to Peru and used in many of their dishes. I also asked him to bring me some preserved ají amarillo if possible. I know they sell it canned in some South American countries but can’t remember seeing them in Peru, so we’ll see if he can get me some.

Matina, hope the doctor can figure out what antibiotics you really need after the throat swap results are in. Drink lots of tea with honey and get as much rest as you can.
Pjm, good luck with the sleep apnea. Hope it can help.

This (above) is the Manuka honey I'm using now. Am advised that it's much, much stronger than my local variety. Sure hope it helps. I ordered it online.

matina, wrote earlier about my long-awaited sleep apnea test overnight. Now to wait two weeks for results. Hope your doctor's swab gets to the bottom of your cough, etc. Sending good wishes. Am having a very, very, very quiet day today. 12 degrees and sunny. Sunnya is out in the backyard. Rishi is here with me, in her own recliner chair, getting ready for her afternoon nap.

Katy . . . an uncomfortable past 14 hours . . . but all is OK. So glad it's all over! Dropped off the whole complicated testing kit at 12 noon after wearing it all night. Seems to have worked. Rishi thought it was very weird! Drinking hydralytes because I lost about 2 litres of fluid last night. Enjoy your afternoon! 

Alessa, so sorry I missed your post! Very embarrassing! Creeping dementia? Foggy lenses? Just plain stupidity? Or a mix of all three? So glad to hear about your brothers' visits. I can imagine the excitement. Too bad about all the cleaning, though. Salsa de Ají Amarillo! Wow! Will wait to hear how it goes.

KATHY good to hear from you yes Dr wasn't impressed that we are still struggling he gave mum and i a new sample powder inhaler to try. and also did a throat swab to check out what it is obviously the major culprits will be shown first if all those come back ok then it is a longer type of affair growing cultures in the lab to see just what it is before he can give us the proper antibiotics to get rid of this
PJ so how much did you pay for that manuka honey? good luck on your sleep apnea test results. I think everyone has some form of sleep apnea no one is just fine (normal) and just what constitutes that? It is the most recent fad these days pressuring folks to buy expensive machines etc well it is what i saw at the clinic i went to.
ALESSA I don't know how you can eat those peppers i love the taste of peppers but oh lord the heartburn and the repetition of them for days on end make me steer well away from them. well done you posted my hopes and thoughts of what we need the dr to find i have had endless tea with honey for 3 weeks and now i got my form to have my HBA1C done it wont be good after all that honey ;-( but what can one do? when your suffering the immediate far outweighs the long term. I hope your brother arrives safe and well and brings you all your goodies too. enjoy!.

Hi alessa yes it's always good to get the hair done I have to be careful not to go to sleep at times it's so relaxing I look fabulous well as an old girl can matina I have to agree about sleep apnoea I just couldn't sleep with the masks on the test is bad enough a friend of ours uses a sleep ap machine she says you get used to it yeah I think getting no rest is worse Pj happy that test is done for you now 2 weeks wait on results that's a long time How are you feeling today still catching up on sleep a lovely winters day we are just enjoying the sun for now have a great day take care everyone hugs all

Katy, another good photo! Thanks. Am attaching my photo of Sunnya from this morning. This is where she waits for me to get up, usually in a place where the sun hits. (You can see the corner of my blue sheet in the bedroom window off to the right.) Sunnya really loves her backyard. She thinks it's part of the National Park. I'm not committed to using a C-PAC mask, but after four years, am getting desperate. Really need to get some sleep and get my energy back. Maybe there are other options. Beautiful day up here too. 11 degrees but feels warmer.

had a bad night last night coughing and some arthritic flare up on my left foot made going to toilet very very difficult.
PJ i hope your test comes back ok and no need for a c pap machine i could never use one i am a very restless toss and turn sleeper id strangle myself with the hose.
KATHY So glad your feeling so good after your hair appointment yes those scalp massages are AWESOME!
Time for a small nana nap im exhausted.
test results showed i have no covid no influenza A or B no RSV either so now to wait for culture to grow in lab to find out what it is and which antibiotic will be then best to kill it off might need to wait till Monday or even Tuesday ;-(
so the waiting game continues.

Morning matina and Pj 23c here today, a little warmer today PJ are you well I hope youve caught up on sleep sunnya is a gorgeous girl in the sun so we are going to the farmers market with the kids, I love the fresh veges and fruit a lady there makes her own jams and pickles etc they have a sausage sizzle the grandson just plants himself in front of the BBQ the guy who cooks it knows him from school his son goes to the same class matina you must have no voice by now after all the coughing look after yourselves have a good day both of you god bless

Katy, wow! 23 degrees. Was 12 up here this morning, and very windy. Just checked and is still only 13 . . . but feels colder. Hope you enjoy your outing to the farmers' market. I think I may take a short walk later, but will mostly rest up inside.
