HELLO ALL!
KATHY good luck on your furniture search who knows those UAP"s may bring a few new designs in for us ;-)
PJ I am sure they are out there and as for "getting us" and that they would have done it by now (why would they bother when we (human beings) cant get alone with each other) what chance do they have if they arrived and who the hell would want to have any part of us??? I am sure they have visited and have marked us off as and black listed us into the "do not bother list" especially when they see our news on kids killing parents parents killing kids etc and as a human race we cannot agree on anything including the most important of all agree to disagree and leave things alone why cant we all live in peace and harmony why must we turn on each other? dividing ourselves up into nationalities race skin colour religion sex and creed. out of all the animals and life forms on this planet i have to admit the most destructive and dangerous one is us "the humans". killing ourselves and other creatures for sport & annihilating the planet to suit our needs. no wonder the aliens don't want anything to do with us except to take samples & to try and figure out why oh why we are so happy in causing each other so much misery pain and death to ourselves and to every other life form on this beautiful planet, that doesn't require our survival (yeap keep flying by Aliens, leave us alone or you too will become extinct at our hands) fly for your lives!!!
time for dinner
egg salad sandwiches tonight.
be safe everyone and god bless and be with you all.
P.S aliens 1 very happy very eager passenger awaiting your arrival if it means a nicer cooler colder planet to live on thank you very much;-)

matina, I'm forgetting about the UAPs and UFOs because there's been yet another murder overnight in western Sydney, this time by a 16-year-old girl! The latest gang shooting victim just died. Those little green men aren't causing any harm, as far as the US Congress heard from military experts yesterday, except regularly for scaring the hell out of pilots. I think I'll hunker down up here in the mountains. Might be safer to do my shopping in downtown St. Louis! (City with most murders in the US.) Only one murder in Leura since 2007, and that was a domestic dispute. Leura Mall was very quiet and peaceful yesterday. (See photo above.) Anyhow, I sat on one of my favourite benches and had a rest. Howling wind last night and still windy today. Sunnya and I gave up on usual our sitting in the sun. Hope you have a restful day!

Katy, thanks for the alien cat photo! My fuzzies wouldn't like that one either! Sunnya runs under the stairs when the doorbell rings. New Feliway just arrived by courier from Katoomba Petbarn. Half-price sale! Has been working well for Rishi. Up to 12 degrees here, but feels much colder because of the wind. Enjoy your sunshine!

Lots of rosellas hanging around. . .

Hi, all!

I’m back from my short trip to Hong Kong. Had to take care of some family affairs at the Peru Consulate in Hong Kong and took the opportunity to do some sightseeing and retail therapy. Went to HK Disneyland and had lots of fun celebrating my birthday there. It was 35.5C and hot as hell but it was nice going on the rides at Disneyland after almost 10 yrs.

My flight back last night was very turbulent as we flew around Typhoon Doksuri, which crossed by the Southwestern side of Taiwan and is moving to China. I hear we didn’t get much rain up here in the north where Taipei is, but the strong winds knocked down all my plant pots down and made a mess which I had to clean at around 1am my time. My flight was delayed an hour in Hong Kong but at least it wasn’t canceled as I feared would happen. I know some earlier flights were canceled though, so it’s good my flight departed in the evening. I spent almost 5 hrs at the airport. Got there very early in case the flight was canceled and I needed to rebook.

I don’t speak Cantonese but the people switched to English or Mandarin when I told them I didn’t understand what they were saying. The trip was fun but I’m so glad to be home, where I can understand what people are saying

matina, everything is OK today. I feel better and not light-headed. Lots of birds were waiting to be fed! The wind has almost completely gone, so the local 13 degrees doesn't feel too cold at all. Hope you have a great Saturday.

Katy, yes, the daily news doesn't give you a good feeling, does it? However, it's so peaceful here right at the edge of the National Park that it's easy for me, in my retirement, to let it all go. I rang the sleep clinic again yesterday, but my results aren't back yet. The next step will be three appointments in Leura leading to a trial of some device. Anyhow, I was only up 5 times last night, so maybe my prostate meds are working. Enjoy your weekend!

Alessa, a belated Happy Birthday! So glad to hear about your HK trip. Glad that you avoided Typhoon Doksuri. Good to be home again . . . yes, I remember that feeling after my many long trips in the past.

Bye for now, everyone . . . am going to have a quiet day . . .

Snoozing in the winter sunshine . . .

matina, more good wishes to your family for your loss. My neighbour's large family will hold an old-fashioned wake on the other side of the fence next week. I'll go over briefly with a card. They're not religious people. Douglas has given his body to science, I'm told. He was well looked after, these past 30-40 years, by the veterans' organisations, like the RSL. He served for more than 5 years during WWII, when he was younger than my grandson. Go in peace, old friend.

Katy, warm here in the beautiful mountains while the sun is out, but a cool 14 when the clouds roll in. Sunnya and I sat on the patio for a while. (See top photo.) Enjoy your Sunday!

Rishi loves her special spring water . . .

matina, yes, very sad indeed. Among my family members, I'm nearly the oldest, so have lost all my 'old timers' now. I'm grateful for my son and grandchildren, and for my brother's young family in distant Maine. Neighbour Douglas had a good, long life, and was much loved.

Quiet day today . . . didn't go anywhere. Rishi is now sleeping on my knees, having enjoyed a nice drink!

Good night, everyone . . .

matina, this is Douglas' tree, just on other side of my backyard fence . . . reaching up to the sky. I'm feeling better today. Driving over to get some spring water later. Not really light-headed. Drinking hydralyte. What are you doing on your Monday?

Katy, just out of the shot was my own drinking glass. Both sit on my little table, next to my beloved recliner chair. After a long drink of spring water, Rishi jumps over to sleep on my stomach or my knees. She's nice and warm on winter evenings! Colder up here today but almost spring-like.

Here's what I just read about possible books of the future . . . but already appearing by the thousands on Amazonn's Kindle Unlimited . . .

"Sci-fi author Tim Boucher says he's created 97 books in nine months with the help of AI.

In an article for Newsweek, Boucher said he'd used AI image generator Midjourney to illustrate the books, and ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude for brainstorming and text generation.

Boucher told Insider he plans to get to 'at least 1,000 books, if not beyond.'

He said: 'My theory is that in the not too distant future, there will be tools which will enable me to piece all the disparate parts together into new and compelling combinations.'"

A big hmmmm from me. UAPs, shootings in western Sydney . . . meine Güte, as my old boss used to say.
