matina, had my first session with my CPAP this afternoon. I was able to use it for two hours, with the full mask. Might try the 'nose only' mask tonight. Glad you were able to enjoy (sort of) a home day. Quiet evening here now. Fire going. Nothing planned for tomorrow.

matina and Katy . . . well, a totally different sleep experience last night. I almost felt like I slept all night long, or at least 6-7 hours. I woke up briefly sometimes, felt the mask and heard the faint wooshing sound, but I guess I went straight back to sleep. Took me a while to get my (nose only version) mask sitting correctly on my face. So . . . a very good report, or so it seems. Can't quite believe it. One 'mask seal error' in the report. Am slightly stunned! More later . . .

matina, I had another sleep with the Resmed machine similar to the night before. Only got up once, instead of 6-12 times. Machine said I got a good 'seal' this time and that the built-in humidifier was working fine. And I apparently got more than 9 hours sleep, at least according to the electronic record. I feel a bit weird. Maybe this is what is feels like to finally get enough sleep after all these years. Hope you have a good day.

Katy, yes, I'm now trying to digest it all. Just sat out in the sun in the backyard. 10 degrees but feels much warmer. I'm going to keep trying for another few nights and hope that it all eventually feels like a 'new normal' in some way. But I'm sleeping right through the night, and that's absolutely amazing. Staying optimistic and patient.

Bye for now . . .

HELLO ALL!
PJ that is awesome news if it is helping you sleep for that long its probably a good investment but how much are they to buy? is rishi still sleeping on your bed?
KATHY goodluck car shopping tell your daughter to take the child along to measure him in each and every car as they all differ and you need to know how comfortable they are not to mention who will be sitting in front of him as to how much leg room will be available lol i hope you had a good day you must be very very tired.
we had a quick trip for a memorial coffee and then chemist warehouse to buy pandol the ridiculous thing it your only allowed 1 packet per purchase then you have to exit the tore and come back in again to buy another one ridiculous my poor mum went in twice and had to do 3 transactions because at least the lady behind the counter took pity on her and just let her swipe the card a third time as apposed to making her walk out and into the store again. mums allergic to codeine and morphine and endone so panadol and norgesic are all she can take plus panamax elixir she was asked why she wanted that she promptly answered to have at night as she has reflux the liquid is gentler on the stomach. because most folks abused the products it makes life that much harder for the legit folks to access proper pain relief, to make the elderly to go in and out of the store is just ridiculous hell you cant even order it online anymore it is an in store only available medication holly hell its harder to get than narcotics. what is the world coming to.
time to return some phone calls and emails have ordered some new probiotics for Yogi will see when they get those in for him. home day Saturday and Sunday for the time being apart form the pub ritual coffee and cake ;-)
be safe everyone and god bless you all

matina, I have the same complaint about the new restrictions on buying Panadol, which is what my cardiologist wants me to take when I have pain. Nothing else. Woolworth's allows me only two packets per order. It's really annoying that the drug abusers have this effect on us innocent ones. Really. Is this the best way to stop people over-dosing? I'm very, very hopeful of having another good sleeping night tonight. If I do, I'll dare to hope that I'm really and truly on the mend, that the machine is helping, and that the last two nights weren't just a fluke. I studied my straps and mask carefully this afternoon and am now feeling more confident about getting everything hooked up properly at night. I was nervous today because I had visitors for a while. Relaxing now and feeling much better. Hoping Rishi will sleep on my bed tonight. RedMed machine is actually very quiet.

Your doing really well with the cpap your getting sleep that's what counts :D have you felt the need for a nap during the day :? I'd love 9 hours without my bladder interfering  a beautiful day coffee out on the deck waving to our gardener neighbours :D haven't seen them in awhile of course they came over with a box of veges bless them :D matina they're taking the teenagers with them to look at a couple of cars we saw yesterday I think he'll fit he always sits in front  bloody panadol restrictions don't get me started  I take panadol osteo it's not a great relief but it takes the edge off it pisses me off to no end to have to go to a couple of pharmacy to get some relief you feel like a criminal when they start questioning why you need it well hello walking stick hobbling not freaking running grrrrr anyhoo my rant is over  couch day reading :D hugs always everyone :D

matina, how is your Saturday going? Only 10 degrees up here, but the sunshine makes it feel like spring, so long as I sit in the sun. Sunnya was with me for a while in the backyard. Another 8 hour sleep last night with little getting up. I feel a bit groggy and am wondering if that's because I'm not used to getting all that sleep. Anyhow, I'm going to keep it up regularly and ask lots of questions to the sleep guy on Wednesday afternoon. He's only 50 but says he's been using the machine himself for a while. My son hasn't yet got his machine. I'm going to talk to him soon and tell him about my experiences. Have a good weekend!

Katy, so glad you have friendly and generous neighbours. It makes all the difference, doesn't it? All my neighbours are quite friendly. No problems at all. I have both a half (nose) mask and a full mask. The latter seems easier for me. The CPAP machine is small and very quiet Can't quite believe what is happening. Has totally changed my sleep, so it seems. I guess it might take days, weeks, maybe months before the full effect takes place. I'm still wondering . . . Maybe this is a turning point for my health. I sure hope so! Hope you'll enjoy your family this weekend.

matina and Katy . . . up and about after a 4th night with my new CPAP machine. Same as previous three nights. Seemed to sleep almost all through the night, but woke up feeling kind of odd and groggy. Am so pleased to sleep but am looking forward to asking the sleep guy and my GP for advice. Guessing that I just have to get used to a 'new normal' . . . Now trying to solve a computer problem. Hope you're both well today. Will write again later.
