HELLO ALL!
HOMEDAY TODAY!
made some phone calls and did some banking and reimbursing too fixed a pair of earrings still have a few phone calls to make had the cleaner come and now a carer so time to think on dinner and that's the day for today.
PJ so sad to hear about the boat i thought they would want to keep it for the grand-kids and its another escape route when living so close to the ocean especially with bush fires because of all the natural wild forest land nearby.
KATHY yes no one wants to do their job how utterly removed and isolated we are becoming with technology and removed from reality. even going to the shops it is self service, it is like they are doing u a favour by staying open for us. Instead of valuing customers and real customers service. now they wont even employ staff to take your money you have to check yourself out. god forbid there is a problem with the price tag then you have to sit in like a protestor to get some recognition before they problem solve your issue. so a 10 minute shopping trip turns into a 2 hour sit in from hell ;-(
time to relax on the couch before getting dinner on
be safe take care and god bless and be with you all

matina, glad to hear that you had a relatively quiet home day today. Although I know you're always busy, wherever you are. Not much to report up here in the mountains. Last day of the local heat wave, so says the Weather Bureau. Used my CPAP for my nap again this afternoon and think I'm slowly getting used to sleeping with it. It's made a big difference to me, and I know I'm getting a better sleep, but it still can be annoying during the night. I think it's mainly a mental problem. Just changed my Woolworth's order and will receive that tomorrow. And so it goes. Short walk across the street to watch the 'reverse sunset' on the cliffs. Always beautiful.

Tetration is an operation (the "fourth") that takes exponentiation (the "third [operation]") to a whole new level. Let me explain.

  • Exponentiation is when you multiply a number for itself <power> times, e.g. 2 raised to the power of 3 (written as 2^3) equals 8 because it's the result of 2*2*2.
  • Tetration, now, extends this idea further by repeatedly applying exponentiation: but, instead of stopping at just one level of "powering up," tetration allows you to keep going higher and higher.

Example: 2 ↑↑ 3 (yes, tetration is often represented using arrow notation) means "tetrating 2 to the power of 3", which is equal to 2^(2^(2)) = 2^4 = 16.

Each step adds an additional level of "towering power," resulting very quickly in waaaaaaay large numbers.

But: how large? Well, let's try another example:
5 ↑↑ 5 (5^5^5^5^5). It is so big it'd take millions of notebooks to be written.
Don't trust me? Try to calculate it, it will take days.

(my user "tetrazione" is tetration in Italian)

matina, hope you're doing well today. Cooler here, with a nice breeze. Didn't get the kind of wind Katy experienced. Took some photos of a local garden . . . one of many that are visited in the annual 'Leura Garden Festival' . . . This one is ready early!

Katy, glad you survived the wind. Wasn't too bad here and is now much, much cooler. Hoping for no more heat for a while. Thanks for the great owls!

tetrazione, wow! That made us stop and think. Make 'the fourth' be with you!

matina, glad to hear that your day was pretty good and that you can plan a relaxing day tomorrow. Hope the pain medication works. Quiet here this evening. I had a nap when I got home, with Rishi on my bed, waring my CPAP mask, and now she's sleeping on my knees, just behind my laptop screen. Very warm! Sunnya is snoozing in one of her cardboard boxes after racing around the living room a short while ago. It's cooled off a lot up here in the mountains . . . down to only 7 degrees right now. Woolworth's delivery arrived and I had a chat with the delivery guy, who was from Punjab in India.
