They say the English are an eccentric people. This competition proves it!
Held in Cheshire, UK in June since 1980. Each participant gets a three-metre square plot of land.
Participants use different techniques, such as vibrating the ground by sticking implements into it, playing music, singing or patting the soil. But importing worms from outside and digging is against the rules.
Prizes are awarded for the single heaviest specimen and the largest quantity of worms. After the competition, all the worms are released into the wild. Not a single worm is harmed.
The record was set in 2009 with a quantity of 567 worms, this number is extraordinary and not the norm.
I'm not asking you to go out into your garden to sing, play music or dig for worms, simply asking you to guess how many worms will be dug up.
To make it easier you get multiple choice:
A. 300 to 350
B. 351 to 400
C. 401 to 450
D. 451 to 500
E. 501 Plus (with a high set at 550)
How do you play?
Pick one of the 5 groups, A B C D E and if the winning number of worms is in that group, you win.
If the Worm Charming is cancelled due to Covid restrictions we will still carry on this ancient tradition. The result will be decided by randomiser and anything could happen.
And for a chance at a bonus (not mandatory but it would be fun), post a funny image, joke, gif or meme about worms

No Duplicate images while your actual entry will still be valid, you will not qualify for the special bonus
Where a post has been edited resulting in duplicates, then the last one in time gets disallowed.
No big images, that would displease me greatly! 800x800 pixels wide maximum.
