What is it?
- A contest where, each round, you select a new card, hoping to reach Four of a Kind with the cards in your hand.
- There are 16 cards in the Four of a Kind deck, sorted by occupation:
- 4 Musician cards: Bach, Debussy, Purcell and Vivaldi,
- 4 Writer cards: Dumas, Goethe, Petrarch and Shakespeare,
- 4 Painter cards: Dürer, Gainsborough, Raphael and Renoir,
- 4 Scientist cards: Einstein, Galileo, Newton, and Pasteur.
- Or by nationality:
- 4 of them are British: Gainsborough, Newton, Purcell and Shakespeare,
- 4 of them are French: Debussy, Dumas, Pasteur and Renoir,
- 4 of them are German: Bach, Dürer, Einstein and Goethe,
- 4 of them are Italian: Galileo, Petrarch, Raphael and Vivaldi.
- Four of a Kind is reached when a poster holds either:
- Four identical cards, or
- The four different cards for a nationality (British, French, German or Italian), or
- The four different cards for an occupation (Musician, Writer, Painter or Scientist).
How do you Play?
- Post a number between 1 and 16 each round to receive a new Four of a Kind Card. (see example below)
- The first round will remain open for a minimum of 3 days. Second and subsequent rounds will be updated when I’ve got time. Unless all regular players have posted - in which case rounds may close sooner - they’ll remain open for a minimum of 24 hours - but may last longer.
