I like the idea. I didn't quite understand it the first time but now I like it :)

Thank you, I rewrote and edited some words here and there to make it more clear and simple to understand. How about your contest, did you finalise the rules?

I want a few more people to vote first, to get a wider range of opinion :)

I'm still confused about something ...

In your suggested contest, winning any reward depends on posting exactly 5 valid posts apart.
and the posters in between get nothing, unless they go on to post exactly 5 posts apart?
or does the contest 'reset' after someone gets 5 posts apart?

Wouldn't this be open to some abuse? I could gather 5 of my board buddies and create a chain ahead of time. Then we all post in rapid succession so we can each rack up 25 WRZ$ after 25 WRZ$.

1) you win if you post exactly after 5 valid posts. If you fail to post after 5 posts (counting from your first post), then you wont be rewarded and have to start again by posting again. this will be treated as your first post now.
2) Yes the posters in between get nothing, unless they post exactly 5 posts apart. If they post after 5 posts they will be rewarded.
3) there is no resetting, its a continuous contest engaging users to post after 5 valid posts.

@ sathumbbs -- thank you for clarifying.

Now I have the same question as awshucks posted.

'I am ready, Guy'

Title: Fast five contest

To enter into the game you have to post a username starting with the last letter of the previous username posted by the previous user. Then after 5 valid posts after your first post, you have to post "fast five + next username. If you miss to post, then you have to start again.

Fast five Award: At any time the contest host will announce Jackpot time and will post in the thread. Then counting at every 5 posts backwards from the contest host’s post, if any person’s "fast five" post matches the fifth post, then he will get reward of 25WRZ$.

so for your fast five post reward will be 5WRZ$
and if it matches with fifth post from jackpot time post, reward will be 5+25WRZ$.

Rules: 1) There should be five valid posts between your post and your previous post.
2) if any username ends with digit then u have to take its last alphabetical letter eg: for 3 it will be e as in three
3) if you are successful in making your "fast five" post, you should not post again for next 5 hrs. This is to prevent abuse and give others a chance to win.
4) you cannot use an already used username from the previous five posts before you, otherwise any username can be used again any number of times.
5) If its your perfect chance then you should post "fast five + the next username" (see below example)

example: The contest host will start with for example say
Raindrops
Last letter is S so next user posts a username starting with S
2. S for
scoobydude

3. E for
etotan

4. N for
nahidrasheed

5 D for
Dodoy

6 y for
yojyou

now if the first user posts he will have to post
fast five
umibunayya

and it continues. Our site has many unique usernames ending with different letters. So it will be a fun game to play.
Open for suggestions and modifications to make it more entertaining.

Nobody else seems to care about the Chain Gang pay-off, so I'm going with N-5. Coming up: what the game post will look like. We're ready to roll as soon as one of the moderators gives the green light. :)

Thoughts about "please-reply"-game ranking-points trading and the bank:
Hi guys, I am wondering about that fixed price-range for ranking points from The Bank
Doesn't the guaranteed worth of ranking points (100+ WRZ$) imbalance the WRZ$-system in other parts of mobilism? (for example book requests starting for 10WRZ$, 1WRZ$ for a clicked "thank you"-button, etc.)
I mean, you basically have to post just once in a "please-reply"-game in order to get a ranking point which you then can sell for 100WRZ$ at the bank.

Should the bank maybe be used as a point-"deposit" only, for a start? And would it maybe be better to let the free market of ranking points trading show, what the price of a ranking point will be after a few weeks? I guess the price would drop way below 100 WRZ$ eventually btw ...

And ... although I find the game and the trading system much fun ... but: won't all this lead towards a ranking-point-booking-nightmare for Guy1731?!

My biggest nightmare is that I try to listen and take into account everyone's opinion, but that's mostly not possible to comply to all. Then fixing a price based on the 'market' isn't that illuminating, as the logs shows that most ranking points are being traded for free (without any payment involved). Maybe some are paid in a different way for their points, maybe some give them away for free, or some just share them with themselves using another username. Nothing wrong with that, but not a good indication for fixing a price.

Anyway, I changed the price for buying from/selling to the bank. One will never say I don't try... ;)

Ow, btw, don't get me wrong: nightmare or not, your comments are still appreciated!

Arkonen expressed concern that the reward in Chain Gang might be too high. I'm not expecting to see the number of winning posters get too large (in the first game we're already halfway through the alphabet and so far there are only 6). But just in case we could add a rule that says the maximum number of posters is 26, after which the game ends no matter where the letters are at.

How's that?
