Brian Azzarello

Brian Azzarello first made it into the comic book industry's headlines writing Eisner award winning title, 100 Bullets. With artist Eduardo Risso (who he first worked with on Johnny Double) Azzarello turned the Vertigo title into one of the most stunningly complex and brilliant titles of the new millennium. He has also worked on the big two Superman (with Jim Lee) and Batman (with Risso). Azzarello has just finished a much debated stint on Hellblazer, where some fans were unhappy with his portrayal of the chain-smoking Brit. Currently working on a new Vertigo title, Loveless, which is set after the American Civil War and tells the story of a former Civil War soldier, Brian Azzarello is definitely a writer to look out for.
