Reader "Snow" only piecemeal in the Tintin at the time, I always found this series interesting without and I've never taken the plunge to read it in continuity.
Reading "Snow Foundation" I am the same effect. A good read but very classic themes (clan struggles with good and bad) without causing the world as it is now to be explained so far (so a new pre-what for).
The drawings are up to the original series with the cold color that sticks to the story but also cools a bit player.
Read So at but not worth the trip as they say in the guides.

Mixed feelings.
While the script runs out this post-apocalyptic world where humanity is divided into clans and bands self. All in a warlike mood or life is synonymous with survival. We thought a little Mad Max.
The drawings are very successful and well integrated in the story.
But all can not convince completely. There are fears a simple revenge story more than reading the future. I prefer"La compagnie des glaces/The New Ice Age" much more successful.
To be continued, however.
