Calling himself Myrwann, this One has been among us ever since, sometimes wearing the form of a man, sometimes a woman, always aiding the bedraggled, guiding the castoffs, and treasuring the accomplishments of the forsaken he guided. But now something has happened. Ancient beyond imagining and weary beyond conception, Myrwann has lost the delight of life. Driven by a force he doesn't understand, he embarks on a harrowing journey through his previous lives - from the East Village of today to Hollywood of the 1920s, to the Buddha's India, to the Dawn of Humankind - searching for an answer for the darkness that has settled on his spirit.
