Since they have discovered a relic Jesameth who have belonged to the local deity, Alim, his stepfather and the little Bul were forced to leave the city. This finding could ruin the credibility and authority of religious power in place. Exile is however not a guarantee of peace and security, the terrible Torq Djihid now being launched on their heels.

The first part of the tanner Alim was one of the revelations of 2004 (a symbolic trophy of Best "first album" of the year BDGest'Art harvested by the way). The style of Virginia Augustine manages to charm and boiled Bul and his grandpa playing in exotic locales and idyllic had, for example, seduced. The point of relegating to the background plot which is necessarily not holding the potential and especially the darker aspect,Yet clearly announced by the opening scene.

In this area, the wind of exile casts no ambiguity. Gone are the moods of coconut trees, attenuated the amused smiles. The danger prevails, violence exploded. Evidenced by this sequence of incredible savagery Torq revealing the personality of the face Djihid Maati. Amazing. And there are others of these bloody episodes that mark this time more in mind that the episodes or the rustic antics of a little bitch always so adorable. The construction of the narrative skillfully plays on the alternation of such scenes until the final confrontation between the characters that the roads meet. The characters of the protagonists are radically opposed, but the caricature is carefully avoided: the bad guys actually care (Djihid is THE find of the album and save a good boy too easy), the good guys are definitely nice, and it is very well like that. The path followed by Alimwhich is more of the leak as a roadmap, it also serves to enrich the gallery of endearing companions if not totally surprising.

The hardening of the tone was accompanied by a change of scenery. The terrain is more difficult, the more severe climate, the general environment more hostile. There is lifeof the movement. The characters are charismatic (they forgot the legacy disneyen despite the "borrowing" Mulan in the snow highlights - Soubyr and tunes such as Chien-Po), natural settings and architectures are being treated. Rather than feeling ugly juxtaposition, the coexistence of fine lines and sketches still visible for some elements bring a certain character with which the colors, too successful, were able to cope.

Without a doubt, the series took a turn that gives it another dimension. The scenario plays cleverly with ingredients that control the author and give the reader the feeling of being on familiar ground without crying deja vu. The suite is now expected as much for its history, which it is hoped will lead us to a new addition very different, for his graphic style that has stood the test of confirmation.

Alim le Tanneur

Image
