Overview: August 1999, in southern France. In a service station, a man meets the gaze of a type that has killed some years earlier. He decides to flee, but his "victim" catches up and eliminates - for good this time. September 2008. Under a blazing sun, they bury some Remi. After the ceremony, his friend Martial, retired policeman, discovers in the basement of identity documents on behalf of a man he does not know. It does not take long to excite his curiosity.

        Having proven on albums such as The Cadet of Soupetard, Sales brats, Lie of wine and Rosangella, the tandem Corbeyran / Berlion recurrence time of a thriller set in Provence two volumes.

        This is out of gas well established that this duo starts this new collaboration.A valuable fuel that unfortunate motorist will pay cash at a price of his life. A forced shutdown in an isolated gas station, an empty hand. Two men who stare at a chance meeting along a lonely road.A common past which reads in terror looks that cross that finish and three bullets in the body of the man whose path ends in the south of France, the gauge to zero. September 2008, nine years later, a bunch of friends buried Rémi Gravelier. After the ceremony, Martial discovers the personal papers of a stranger in the basement of his late comrade. A mystery that stirs the curiosity of this former policeman and brings back old shenanigans lucrative in which he bathed in the company of Dede, Frantz and ... Remi.

        From the title,this first part of a diptych installs scorching and suffocating atmosphere. A scrub burned by the scorching sun and delivering a heavy atmosphere. Appearance of summer decor, blending coals and barbecue smells of sausages, yet concealing dark secrets. Eric Corbeyran pays special attention to relations between the different protagonists of this story, forging long-standing ties and friendships built on schemes, junk, feelings of jealousy and complex reports. Throughout the pages the writer skillfully distills its suspense,allowing the reader to discover the different pieces of this puzzle intriguing. The author reveals his story in dribs and drabs, printing a tempo entirely in tune with the rhythm of life in this little corner of Provence. In constructing his story three times, Corbeyran updates the workings of this secret that Remi has failed to carry to the grave, while retracing the youth of different players with great skill.

        The design of Olivier Berlion (Stories in town, Tony Corso) renders perfectly the atmosphere of the South.The color in direct colors and warm tones accentuates the authenticity and sense of oppressive heat generated by this arid landscape. The remarkable work on the expressions of the characters allows the designer to convey many feelings with unspoken and align more effectively mute boards.

        With a second component which will reveal the end of the story from the month of August, rural thriller will not long to confirm its promising aspect.
