Overview: The Red Laser iPhone barcode scanner is an application available for the iPhone that gives you the ability to "read" product barcodes to access more information about items.

While it does not actually use a red laser, the app does use the iPhone's camera to take a snapshot of the barcode in question. If you position the camera correctly, the barcode image will be translated into information about the product, letting you check prices online or store the item as a possible gift or grocery choice. The applications costs $1.99 via the Apple app store.
