Overview: OziExplorer allows you to work with maps on the computer screen that you create from scanned or digital maps. Ideal for planning trips, for boating, 4 wheel driving, flying, hiking etc and as a real time navigation aid.


OziExplorerCE is moving map software for PocketPC's and Window CE PDA's which use the WinCE core operating system. It uses raster map images which are either scanned or purchased in digital format. It allows you to track your position received from a GPS on a map (moving map).

OziExplorerCE is not automatic route planning software, you cannot request the best way to get from point A to point B, the types of maps OziExplorerCE uses do not allow this. However OziExplorerCE will allow you to create your own routes on the map and navigate along those.

The design philosophy is you plan your trip using the full PC OziExplorer on you PC and then transfer your waypoints and other data to your PDA for use by OziExplorerCE.

* The close button (and perhaps other buttons) on the main toolbar disabled the hardware buttons - now fixed.
* The scale can now be moved by dragging directly on the scale window instead of have to click on the window to show the window caption first.
* The Track Toolbar now remembers which track was last in use (the active track) when it is activated.

FWIW.. I used the desktop version to scan/calibrate a C.A.A air chart for the PPC version. Even with 9 calibration points (poly calibration) the 'fix' point is always slightly north of the real position (maybe a couple of hundred meters or less) and accuracy got worse with westerly positions. But for all that, an excellent piece of software!

First of all thanks for this program, i would appreciate some help on the follwing issues:
1. When Navigating the "Arrow" (my position) and map do not move in my direction of travel, can this be configured and in which Menu??
2. On my PC when i want to plan a route (not in Navigation mode) between 2 Maps i can't seem to get the second map linked to the first map (on my monitor ) in order to draw the route?? (- when i navigate in my car going from one map area to the other it tranferes to the next map automatically).

Would appreciate anyones help on these issues.
