X-PRO release 1103v with G729 codec
Requirements: PocketPc Windows Mobile 2002/2003/SE/WM5/WM6 with Internet Connection
Overview: X-Pro is a software-based telephone (i.e. “softphone”) that runs on a PocketPC device and
incorporates many features of traditional business telephones—including conferencing, multiple
lines, and call transfer.
The innovation with X-Pro is that calls are made over the internet instead of a telephone system,
using a voice transport mechanism known as Voice over Internet Protocol—VoIP. Calls made to
another internet telephone—anywhere in the world—are generally free, while calls made to a
regular telephone are generally much cheaper than traditional long distance charges.
To enable VoIP capabilities, X-Pro uses an open standard technology called Session Initiation
Protocol—SIP. All softphone users must have an account with a SIP service provider before they
can start making calls with X-Pro (NOTE: COUNTERPATH SOLUTIONS DOES NOT PROVIDE SIP
SERVICES; SEE THE SECTION BELOW FOR INFORMATION ABOUT WHERE TO FIND A SERVICE
PROVIDER).
X-Pro’s features include:
• 2 Lines
• Mute
• Line Hold
• G.711, G711a and G729 audio codecs
• Attended and Unattended Call Transfer
• GSM and Speex audio codecs
• Caller ID and call timer
• Dynamic audio codec selection
• Call Conferencing
• NAT/Firewall traversal intelligence
• Touch-tone generation (RFC 2833)
• STUN NAT discovery
• Call Ignore
• SIP Compliant (RFC 3261)
