O.k. After a long a process, I was able to finally get this working.

When going through the instructions, I had to do a Soft Reset reset before installing v4.04. The installation wouldn't complete until I did that. After importing the registry key and installating v4.16, it seems the registration got lost and said I had to purchase the software. Well, I re-entered the code that I wrote down from step 1, and it re-accepted the code. It appears to be running fine now, but hopefully the registration sticks. I'll update everybody later on.

H! :(

I'm very unhappy because i have followed all the steps in the readme file and it doesn't work.

All goes weel untill I connect to one of the services (IM, MSN). It conects but it disconects me immediately and ends the program IM+.

I open again IM+ and it asks for registration. I enter the registration code obtain in step 1 and it registers, i connect again and it disconects me.... and so on .....

I don't know what to do... (i have an Asus A636 with Windows Mobile 5)

Thanx for reading :)

Good night!

Did you enter the registry entry into your registry? If so how/with what?

Thanx for the quick reply!

Of course I have entered the registry entry into my registry. I have used Resco Explorer to open that file and it said to me that the entries were successful.

It's strange.... I removed the program and I tried again. The same result... :( It connects and then disconnects.

Do you have any other thoughts?

Could it be your internet connection that is causing it to connect then disconnect?

Nope, I don't think so. The default MSN messenger works just fine. Maybe is a bigger problem because I cannot connect with Skype. I don't know what to say. Maybe I?ll try another messenger to see what will happen.

Thanx anyway! But if you have any ideas, please write them down :D

Thanx again!

Mike

later edit: surprisingly Skype connects now. It's becoming weirder.

Well, this release is not working for me.

After installing as described in the txt im+ is working fine for me (4.16 v., registry patch applied). This is fine until I am doing an active sync - at this point the software stops working and the "register" menu entry is there again. My guess is, that the registry patch does not stop the internet access to the regristration verifaction server at shapeservices when routed through active sync and the pc. Any help would be great...

Find an application that can lock up IM+'s files so they cant connect to the internet while you're Synchronizing. Then, if after syncing it prompts you to register again the problem is not Sync releated. I actually dont think what you're saying is possible because no IM+ were installed on your PC since the installation was only with .cab files.

Well, I guess I figured out the problem by now. Unfotunately there is no really workable solution, maybe someone can help and come up with a patched version of 4.16.

The registry patch basically just redirects the tcp/ip traffic headed to shapeservices towards nirvana. However this setting seems only to apply for "internal" net connections.

When I connect my WM05 device with active sync, the PCs internet connection is shared with my mobile device. In that case, the HOSTS file of the XP system is responsible for routing information. One solution is to add the shapeservice adresses also to the local HOSTS file and redirect to nirvana. However that needs to be done with EVERY PC you connect your device to with active sync (I got a couple). Forget it once - and your install is crippeld.

Maybe so assembler guru (I haven't touched Assembler since the good old Motorolla 68.000er) can patch the exe for us?

BTW, love this site and forum, great stuff!

For those of you experiencing the same problem, here is the temporry fix:

Deinstall everything.

on your PC you aore using for activesync open your hosts file, located at windows/system32/drivers/etc with editor.

Add the following lines:

127.0.0.1 shapeservices.com
127.0.0.1 http://www.shapeservices.com
127.0.0.1 im.shapeservices.com
127.0.0.1 shapeservices.de
127.0.0.1 http://www.shapeservices.de
127.0.0.1 im.shapeservices.de

save and reboot.

Install IM+ as described - enjoy!

I installed it as instructed and in the version 4.16 once you start it up it will ask you to register it.But the strange thing is that it only does it with the new version and not with the other versions. What do i to stop it from trying to resgister on the version 4.16?

thanks for this great release it is awsome.
