Overview: The latest version of Windows Live Messenger as of Sept 08.
Windows Live for Windows Mobile includes:
Integrated contact list (Windows Live and phone contacts) and option to not sync contacts
Windows Live Messenger
Windows Live Mail
Access to Windows Live Spaces (and capability to upload photos on some devices)
Windows Live Search (web search, location based search, etc.)

Download Instructions: Uninstall previous version, then install this version. Install/Uninstall may lock up your device, but be patient and wait for it to complete (it is a very slow process ). A soft reset may be required after install and uninstall

One question: The plugin showed on the top of today screen, with launch application icons and Comm manager integrated with time, is a part of Windows Live for Mobile or it's adifferent plugin? If it is which plugin it is and does it support VGA?

Only Windows Live Search bar and Mail thing underneath it are part of WLM for Mobile

I'm guessing the plugin you are talking about is just some shortcut plugin - possible one that came with the device

works perfect on my hp 6925 square screen all is good and no contact sync problem!

but Microsoft should change a few things, like add a proper status bar that tells us if the person is typing and the last msg received... basic stuff!!! video support would be nuts as well which shouldn't be hard at all.

It makes my Qtek g100 (similar to i-mate PDA-N and dopod p100) go slow as hell in the startup and opening the windows folder...

The "Today Screen" options Tab was used to PUSH it to the top. Part of WM5 WM6 options and not a plugin

And yes, supports VGA [x51v tested]

Just a question,

Does this version have the bug where it copies all the MSN contacts into the PHONEBOOK? Can this version use SMS to communicate just like Pocket MSN can???

Also, is it possible to get JUST the messenger without the other program/extensions.

There is now an option to stop it from copying contacts to the phonebook. no idea about SMS i didn't see that anywhere (also can someone explain how that works).

They need to add support for: voice/video communication, add a status bar that tells you when the contact is typing/last msg recieved, more emotions and animated emotions, ability to add custom emotions, and when you are talking, that bottom part with the icons is too big when you don't have any contacts talking to... and they should add an option to send your coordinates via on board GPS, simply turns on GPS, gets coordinates and puts the coordinates on clipboard or something.

This version allows the option to not copy contacts to phonebook
It is only Windows Live Messenger. You can choose which today plugins to display (wlm, windows live search)

ps:i'm impressed with voice clip thingy :D

1 thing that doesn't work is that you cannot first initiate an offline message if a contact is on appear offline, it also doesn't have any status bar to indicate last msg recieved/if contact is typing... other than that it is a lot better than the old one.. the homescreen plugin could also be designed better...
