Palringo v1.0 (Freeware)
Requirements: Windows mobile 2003+
Overview: Palringo is stepping up to the plate with a full-featured freeware app for Windows Mobile and Symbian devices. Palringo supports several of the most popular instant messaging services, including MSN, Yahoo!, AOL, and Google Talk/Jabber.

Features:here are plenty of instant messaging applications available for Windows Mobile phones and PDAs. But ever since Agile Messenger went and started charging money for their excellent IM client, there's been a dearth of good free IM clients.
Palringo sports a few unusual options like the ability to logon to the same service multiple times. So if you've got two AIM names, you can use both at the same time. You can also send voice clips, although Palringo doesn't support real time voice chat.

» Voice: use your mobile to chat with friends by speaking or texting
» Messaging: leave messages even when contacts are not connected
» Availability: Instantly see status of contacts
» Interoperability: Connect to users of popular PC IM systems
» Open: Works independent of your mobile service provider

Oh, and one of our favorite things about Palringo is that it's got support for older Windows Mobile devices. Unlike many newer applications, it supports Windows Mobile 2003 and up.

I was going to post this a month or so ago, it's a nice app...I could never get the voice thing to work though, but it does what it claims...there are many freeware apps that are pretty ok in my book.

Seems better than any other IM, but I'm having trouble logging in using an HTC P3300 (WM6). It keeps trying to connect and nothing happens.

Comment: One of the few legit cooperative messengers out there (it and Slick are the only good all in one messengers imo). Palringo is an all in one software for different types of IM clients so if you have AIM, MSN, Yahoo, etc and would like to be on all of them at the same time using one program so that you wouldn't waste memory, Palringo is the answer for all of this. One of the great things about this piece of software is that it's not a memory hog at all and doesn't waste the battery. Unlike IM+ (which does al lof those), it also doesn't drain the battery at such a fast rate. What it has to offer (file sharing, voice, etc) is what distinguishes it from the many other IM clients. Looks like a promising software that we can more than likely anticipate new innovative features such as receieving offline messages, viewing buddy info, and a lot more. The only possible flaw one can see imo is with this program is that you have to connect to the Palringo server before you can use any of the messengers. I personally can see this as a good and bad thing. The good is that many school campuses and other networks block the ports to go on messengers but since this connects to a server, you can access it from anywhere. It can be seen in a negative way in that you have to go to the Palringo site and register with them first. All in all, it's a great promising IM client that we can expect to see a lot from in the feature.
Also look at: on this site:
- Slick
- IM+

Please respect the developer(s) of this software. If you download and use it, then buy or support it.

I was using this for a while, but recently shifted to Jive.

Palringo has a great voice function, and can be used to leave voice mails on GTalk. But for purely chat functionality, I found Jive better (though it is still in alpha).

I am a big fan I have gotten a few friend to connect and its gr8. The group function is good. I don't have mms on my touch through my provider so this is a gr8 alternative. I am very impressed. Also I like using the ptt or voice when on the move or driving. I also like the multi platform. Windows mobile, pc, symbian, and java (java doesn't have voice yet says coming). so you can connect with several people.
