I dont have a data plan (blocked) and I can use IMPlus so I would assume it's sms based...
But I also connect using wireless instead.

No trust me it's not sms based it's 100% data. It's using your wireless connection I would assume.

Yeah, those KILLLLLL your IM's. The phone companies add those in while manufacturing so that peeps can run up that big SMS bill. IM+ is pure data and pretty good. I used to use another that allowed me to connect to more than one account. For example, I have 4 AOL accounts. I could connect to all four at once! I miss that. Now I have make a choice.

If you don't have a data plan, but you're using IM+, either you have wifi or you are mistaken about not having a data plan. IM+ does not use SMS.

i cant get it to work on my hermes wm6. I put in my AIM username and password (password may be wrong), I can hear data interferance on my car speakers, but nothing happens. no error message, no buddy list, nothing to indicate its doing anything at all.

Guess I'll try something else. thanks anyway

Nevermind!! Reisntalled the PC file, then the cab, then rebooted, and made sure my password was correct via PC aim. Works great, thanks!!

(im still very surprised there is no program fully supporting all the AIM features, like view buddy profile, view full away messages, SET away messages, and create your own profile. but, this works for basic communication on the road so I'm happy for now)

Is anyone else having the problem where away / status messages keep showing up improperly as squares and other random (mostly) single characters? Perhaps 10% of the time they'll show correctly.

Also is there any way to view people's idle time via this, or another widely accepted IM solution? Thanks!

MSN via USB (ActiveSync 4.5) and PC on the internet, doesn't work. I guess only via the phone's GPRS....!

EDIT: ICQ did work via USB that I tested. Then, via expensive GPRS (data plan) MSN worked. Many thanks for this share, SyMPDA!

Every damn time I reboot my phone and try to sign on to AIM, IM+ crashes then forgets all of my login settings and I have to put them in again. Incredibly frustrating. This is the only version that has done this to me.

Hi!

On startup the tool asked me if i would update to 4.54 - and me idiot say yes. Now i have the brandnew version, but he asked me on my first launch if i would register or use the trial period. Does it make sense to wait (and use the trial in the meantime) till PPC have the 4.54 cracked, or should i downgrade to 4.53 ?

kind regards,
Matthias
