Is it in the "about"? Some programs only make you register when the trial period runs out. Or some ask you to register at the programs startup.

Ah.. Well then if you have the time and can safely do it, go ahead and give it a shot anyways. Just make sure you have everything safely backed'up.
Another method, is what is your device that it can't even get WM5.0 working? There has to be a ROM for it, what device is it?
