WMWifiRouter v0.91 (Freeware)
Requirements: Any Windows Mobile Pocket PC with WiFi connection
Overview: WMWifiRouter is a tool to use your Windows Mobile 6 (possibly 5) as a WiFi <-> GPRS/UMTS/HSPA router. It'll allow you to use WiFi capable devices to connect to the internet through your phone's data connection.
WMWifiRouter is a tool that turns your Windows Mobile device into almost an Access Point. Almost, because it uses an Ad-Hoc (computer-to-computer) connection instead of infrastructure mode. It’s purpose is the same though: allow your WiFi-enabled devices to use your WM device’s data connection to connect to the internet

WMWifiRouter is still pretty much in it’s infancy and exactly how it works seems to change daily. It started with registry hacks and the likes, then went to using hacked DLL’s and now is pretty much operational again with just runtime hacks. We’re not in a final stage yet, so exact usage changes. The currently most up to date documentation is in TalynOne’s “Internet Sharing over Wifi” topic over at XDA-Developers, which also serves as the official WMWifiRouter topic. The documentation will not make it to this page until we reach a decent final version. The first posts in that topic will tell you how to use it (as well as how you can do the whole thing manually), the last few posts will likely be dealing with current issues.

Note that….:

- You should turn on WiFi before starting the installation process
- The network settings installer will create an Ad-Hoc network for you named “WMWifiRouter”
- If you have a version of WMWifiRouter from before the installer (older than v0.85), remove all old files, shortcuts, etc. before installing this version.

Thanks or the post.
Please, could you just clarify: You are talking about a Zip for the installation, and you propose a cab for download.
Actually .cab file does not want to install on my Trinity WM5. Certificates problem.

Sorry, I thought i removed that...oh well. Yes, this is cab file, so you need to copy to your device and run/install

Update Description:
v0.91 (14-01-2008):
- Improved registry backup / crash cleanup.
- Added IP block configuration.
- Now only connects to Ad-Hoc networks.
- Changed some WiFi control code.

v0.90 (10-01-2008):
- Removed backup notification, seems to annoy smartphone users.
- Added close menu button for about screen, again for smartphone users.
- Added more log messages to catch more problems.
- Added some registry tweaks for WMWifiRouter itself.
- All code is now digitally signed.
- Installers add digital certicate, together with the code signing this may reduce some more smartphone issues.
- Installers adjusted - hopefully fixes the “can’t install” issue.
- Added certificate CAB to manually install the code certificate (may help installer issue).
- Added “application only” download.

v0.89 (07-01-2008):
- Made the use of DHCP Allocator disabled by default.
- Added some log strings.

v0.88 (06-01-2008):
- Made the use of DHCP Allocator configurable.
- Added some code that hopefully prevents ICS from randomly popping up (again).

v0.87 (06-01-2008):
- Corrects ActiveSync issue.
- WiFi settings break again for when WiFi is turned off.

v0.86:
- Removed some rebind calls.
- Issue where WiFi settings were not available after running WMWifiRouter fixed.
- Tweaked DHCP and connection settings.

v0.85:
- Added CAB (Windows Mobile) installer.
- Added EXE (Windows XP/Vista) installer.
- Modified the icons (the small icon is still not perfect, but getting close).
- Moved creation of Ad-Hoc network to the installers.
- Moved creation of shortcut to the installers.
- Ad-Hoc network is no longer hidden.

v0.84:
- Fixed issue with internal backups that could corrupt registry.
- Changed Crash Cleanup code to use previously saved backup.
- Added a sort of setup for first run:
o Notifies of backup and Crash Cleanup option.
o Optional start menu shortcut creation.
o Optionally let WMWifiRouter create the Ad-Hoc network for you (this is EXPERIMENTAL).

v0.82:
- Added DHCP registry tweaks. Apparently, DHCP didn’t work for everybody, I hope this will resolve that issue. IP addresses given out by DHCP start at .32 and run to .254, this leaves .2 to .31 to use as static addresses (no DHCP).
- Timeout tweaks added, hopefully the WiFi will now no longer disconnect during longer periods of no activity.
- The ID of the network the phone is connected to is now displayed.
- Small GUI adjustments.
- Like every other release, timings have been adjusted again.

v0.81:
- Modified the way the images are embedded in the exe… compiler went crazy.
- Tweaked timings again.
- Added WLAN timeout, if the WLAN doesn’t respond to WMWifiRouter it should no longer crash your phone, but give you an error instead.

v0.80:
- Changed interface to use big icons and animations.
- Added new program icons, still needs some work though.
- Added option to make the log visible.
- Added about screen (with new logo).
- Added options to create/remove shortcut in your program menu.
- Added extra registry backup/restore functionality.
- Added detection for ICS, with the optional error message

the rapidshare .cab file presents me with a certificate error
and the website given for the developer says "This Account Has Been Suspended"
doesn't look good, heh..
any other mirrors for this?
-----------------
it seems that the author has pulled his program from all sites and taken down the webpage, for reasons unknown
i managed to find the last and latest (this one - 0.91) release on a torrent site though
i installed it and it works awesome on my htc touch cruise
i scanned it for virii and uploaded to rapidshare for everyone here..
here is the mirror: http://rapidshare.com/files/92984304/WMWifiRouter_v0.91.zip.html
