I'll post here a simple WM 6.5 VoIP Activation HOWTO with a few screen shots explaining how the WM6VoIPFull.cab configuration software is working and I hope that it may be included in the new custom ROM versions provided in this forum :)

I hope also this HOWTO will be usefull for all enthusiast from this forum.

I'm using a VoIP services provided from a local (Bulgarian) VoIP provider. They are offering local fixed phone numbers and good International and local rates.
When I'm connected trough WiFi (also is working trough 3G ....) to the Internet and my VoIP is registered I can receive incomming phone calls to my fixed number and send outgoing calls using the G$M network or Internet (VoIP).
All outgoing / incomming calls are made using the standart build in phone dialer and adress book - this is because the VoIP support is build in your WM 6.x based phone by default.
If you like you can activate / deactivate the VoIP temporarily for some outgoing calls and etc.
For example when I'm abroad and there are available WiFi Hotspot I'm using VoIP for all outgoing calls and I don't have to pay the expensive roaming charges ...
You don't need some third party voip software (like fring, skype and etc) to make voip calls at better prices than the prices offered from the G$M providers. :)

The SIP VoIP build in WM 6.x supports only GSM (13.2 kbps) / g711alaw (64 kbps) / g711-ulaw (64 kbps) codecs

Thanks for this software to the authors: shaun33, Jaap de Wolf and tucahara .... and all enthusiasts from this and other forums :)

1. WM6VoIPFull.cab instalation add two VoIP config programs + today screen plugin + the GSM VoIP codec

Image
2.1. Using the Tools menu you can acctivate VoIP over 3G / GPRS via a registry update

Image
3. Dial Plan creator - here you can update the dial plan

Image Image
4. Using the today plugin you very easy can acctivate / deactivate the VoIP service

Image
5. Using the Today plugin you can change the VoIP settings

Image
6. After a wifi or 3G connection the VoIP service will be automatically acctivated

Image
7. After the VoIP registration and activation, when you dial number it will be send automatically trough your VoIP Provider using the standart build in phone dialer and adress book

The Full VoIP support is already added in the new WM 6.5 version 21189 based ROM for Samsung Omnia provided from:

Nice release and nice writeup.

Do you know if this will work over my native speaker for my AT&T Fuze (TouchPro)? In other words, will the audio come out of the back speaker (normally music), or the front speaker (normally telephone calls)? Also, will this work with a bluetooth headset?

Thanks!

Thanks lubo777 for your valuable effort on this.

I installed the cab on my HTC touch (elf with omap 850) running Windows mobile 6.0 professional; and it works but with very weak volume. Is there anything to be done about this? Could I possibly have made any misstakes using the configuring tools?

lazlo, the SIP config tool is setting only the SIP VoIP settings in WM 6.x and installs the GSM codec.
On Omnia there is a buildin tool in my Windows directory for setting all the Volume levels (Handset / Headset / Speakerphone / BT and etc).
I DON'T know will it work on HTC touch ... :) Mybe there is no such a app on HTC touch ... Better search for some specific solution for your phone.
The program is: \Windows\SoundTester.exe (install third party file explorer (eg. resco explorer 2008; search for it) and go to the path below. double click SoundTester.exe)
Here in is a detailed info about the all settings on SoundTester

Thanks for the release, works ok on my Touch Pro, however after installation GPS reception is disabled. Deinstallation does not reenable GPS but only a hard reset does the trick. Any idea how to have the VoIP feature active without compromising GPS reception ?

Thanks,
Rainer

I am sorry to tell you lubo777, but this cab also disables my streaming media function so that is no longer possible to view movie clips through Internet Explorer.

I did not find any possible solution to the low volume problem either.

Same problem, GPS can not be found after enabling VOiP on my HTC Touch HD.

Only a hard reset (back to original software) makes it work again.
Suggestion?

Can someone help me? in AU the format for a mobile number is like 04xx-xxx-xxx but when i dial its like (xxx)xxx-xxxx and my VOIP provider just don't dial them, can i change windows mobile to change to that format? local land line numbers like 9xxx-xxxx work fine though. Fring dials mobile phones fine for me. so it HAS to be a windows setting someplace. I think its also cos i dont fully understand the layout/settings for the sip config app. can somone direct me to a link how to fully use the sip config app?

Thanks

just two things..

i have to put on hold the call cause sometimes i can hear them but they dont hear me (maybe is my asterisk)

the other is the capacity off voice call.. it tries but for video send a RED/800 codec that no one knows about them...

maybe is posible to install a h263 codec so VoiP uses it?

thanks and greetings
