If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

Hey,
I'm going to buy the Samsung Galaxy S, which is still not rooted.
1. I read somewhere that if the phone is not rooted you cant install the games and software here Is it true?
2. Does the games work on different phones even if they are not the same display size? The game that works on the 3.7 inch of the Nexus/Desire work good/fullscreen on the 4 inch display of the Galaxy S?
Sorry for the n00b Q. but I'm new to Android.

No you dont need to root to install apps or games in most cases.

And as long as your screen is bigger you can play it. You should have some black area on the side(s) if you do.

Display size does not matter. It's the screen resolution that matters with compatibility. The 4 inch screen of the Samsung and the 3.7 inch screens of the Nexus/Desire have the same resolution of 800x480 (WVGA) so if a game works on a Nexus/Desire, it will work on the Samsung.
