If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

It seems like a royal pain to go through the root process and risk screwing up and losing my phone just to be able to overclock.

Does anyone know of a way to do it without root?

Heck, I have no need for root, yet (copy/paste app looks interesting though), but I would really like to get a bit more speed out of this Eris.

Oh and if anyone has a simpler way to root this Eris, compared to - http://androidforums.com/all-things-roo ... mmies.html - please give a shout. So much work for oc'ing :(

Check out HTC Eris 1 Click Root app in the Market. Can't get any simpler than this. Once you are rooted, your phone will be even safer from losing anything because you can create back ups. Plus overclock. Plus about anything else you could want your phone to do. If you have any questions, let me know. I've been playing with my phone non-stop for months now. Overclocked to 806 running Android OS 2.2 (Froyo).

That is amazing, thank you!

Does it let you un-root easily also? I hate to lose all the HTC stuff forever ;)
