If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

I heard of an iPhone app that monitored your sleep, but was never convinced enough to actually pay for it. Now a friend of mine tried the Sleep-As-A-Droid app for her Android and said it’s actually pretty cool. Has anyone here tried it and maybe uses it more frequently? In other words… is it worth to purchase?

Look at all the permissions the free two week trial version demands whereas the paid version requires no special permissions.

I cannot say I've seen any free versions nearly as intrusive and I would never install such.

With a 15 minute refund policy, how could you actually try most any app to see if it works fully, much less a sleep monitor and alarm?

I've used both ElectricSleep and Sleep-as-an-Droid at least once and I think they both do work fine. IMHO ElectricSleep is more basic, on the other hand Sleep-as-an-Droid features better sleep analysis, statistics, sleep debt calculation, it is more customizable and also features a snoring "recorder" which has given me lots of laughs :D

Even for someone who does not need this, it's worth the 2 bucks.

However for that purpose I still use SleepSense on my good ol' Touch Pro.

Well, the paid version is just the unlock "app" so this is normal. It's not an entirely different up, it just unlocks more features and removes trial from the demo.

Also, see here:

Not from what I saw in the market.

The trial version requires more special permissiins than any other app I've personally seen.

Paid version, none, so paying unlocks a lot more than use after 14 days for anyone silly enough to install the free version.
