If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

We live in an area with poor cellphone reception - so I loose signal quite frequently. Most times my HTC Desire HD will reconnect to the cell network after detecting a signal again, but sometimes it is as if the phone "locks out" and it does not reconnect to the cell network. Under these conditions it sometimes helps if I activate and deactivate "airplane mode" on my phone, as it will sometimes cause the phone to "reinitialize" and ask for a PIN number and log onto my service provider cell network again... but not always.

Is there a more foolproof way in which this can be achieved? Anyone with any similar experience with a solution?? :?

Regards,
Heyns

PS: The exact same thing happens with my wife's HTC Desire, as did my (previous) HTC TyTNII. Strangely, my wife's (previous) Nokia 6820 never "locked out" as the HTCs are doing... :(
