hi everyone

is backing up entire phone (galaxy s in my case) with contacts/apps/settings/data...everything..possible without rooting? and if yes, what app is best for that?

But it does a very poor job of backing up your phone. In fact, it doesn't. What is does is backup up your Contacts (and a few other things), then a list of your Apps. When it restores, it brings back your Contacts partially, (not fully - bits seem to be left out, like membership of Groups, birthdays, etc). It then brings back a list of your installed apps, and then re-installs them all for you. This is better than nothing, but I found it a waste of time. All of the data for all your apps is gone. None of your shortcuts are there - your intricate screen layouts, wallpapers, etc, are NOT saved or restored. All of the podcasts you had subscribed to, etc - all gone.
