If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

Touchscreens do have their advantages when selecting from multiple things on a screen quickly, but aside from that they are generally not interesting to me, or preferable.
* I like extended battery life.
* I like using one hand for most tasks on a phone (a touchscreen normally requires too much surface area to control the phone, making one-hand operation less practical if not impossible).
* I like efficient use of screen space (to make touchscreen use practical with fingers, lots of icons are made larger than a non-touch phone).
* I like that softeys and the navpad can handle almost all navigation around the phone with very little "finger extension" needed
* I like tactile feedback.
* I dislike every touchscreen typing implementation I've tried (including swype)
* I like that smaller screens mean less chance of damaging the screen with a phone drop
* I like oldschool transflective displays so I can see them ok in the sun
* I like direct access to the keys always, not just when the phone is showing them (I can turn alarms off by feel without taking it out of my pocket, etc).

I hear you there. I had tried a few typing implementations and didn't really like any of them until I came upon Swiftkey X (one of the Free Apps of the Day over at Amazon last week). It's not perfect, but it's such an improvement that I have to mention it to others who are frustrated with the typing setup available to us on Android! It's also available here on Mobilism if you want to try it out for yourself.
