As sandikan wrote any task killer you install can actually end up doing more harm than good and decrease device performance and battery life. Any devices on Android 2.2 (Froyo) or above shouldnt run a task killer. Android 2.2 and above brought about Dalvik Cache and built in Task Killing functions by the Android Dev team...

What about 2.1? My tablet actually came with ATK and I use it regularly but now I'm a little concerned.

Anything prior to 2.2 doenst use dalvik cache so a task killer for 2.1 is definitely recommended to keep apps from running in the background and killing your battery. ATK is a great app for you if you're on 2.1. Another good app is Watchdog, its monitors CPU usage and kills tasks as well.

Thanks in advance(:
Android 2.2 and above has built in task killing so if you're on 2.2 or higher you do not need a task killer.

Task Killers offer nothing more than a placebo effect. That is all. They were good when Android was first born back in the days of Cupcake, Donut, and Eclair, but since then, they are no good.

I find the Task Manager, which comes allong with the Stock Samsung Version of the android OS to be quite an effective task killer.
