If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

I am thinking about using a Samsung Tab 3 of some form to back up pictures from my DSLR (Canon 7D) to a micro SD card. The internal tablet memory will not be enough. Ideally I would like to be able to select one days pictures at a time from the camera and send the directly to a folder on the MSD card. I do not need to view the files during this process.

I think this can be done but it requires a few steps and I probably need a better app than the built in Samsung Gallery. Any suggestions for an a of a good gallery app or a file manager would be greatly appreciated. I want to make this as simply as possible as there will be several hundred pics each day.

I would also consider a non Samsung tablet that will take a micro SD card but I assume that anything running android will be much the same

John

As a follow up I have just tried x-plore and that will not recognise my Canon 7D although the QuickPic etc will. Are there any file managers that will connect to a DSLR ??

Thats your best chance as a photographer i have just recently turned to Eyefi and you see the pictures straight away, it tethers straight from camera to tab or phone, worth the money and no wires or adapters in sight.

Another vote for Eye-fi. It's simply amazing. I got the Pro version and it's really worth it for me. Your mileage may vary.

Use Samsung built-in Kies software for data transfer.
