If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

Hi,
I installed Kindle for Android on my Lenovo android phone. It works perfectly for my Amazon account. But I can't seem to open a .mobi book which I transferred to the phone. How do I make the reader open all books with .mobi extension open with Kindle reader? Any pointers?

In case you still want to know how to add mobi files to your Kindle app, you just have to go to your Amazon account, click on "Manage your Content and Devices". Then click on "Personal Document Settings". Now this is going to sound all tricky, but you have to do it only once. Make sure "Personal Document Archiving" is enabled and then add your most used email to "Approved Personal Document E-mail List" (you can also add friend's emails, so they can send you files to your app directly). Above all that there is "Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings", and there is an email for you to use, probably with your username and ending on @kindle, so all you have to do is send an email with the mobi file attached to that Kindle email and you will receive it on your app. It's quite easy. You can also send small pdfs, docs and txts.

I really love the Kindle app! Moon Reader has improved a lot lately, I'm digging it too :)

You can get your books to show up in the kindle app by using Calibre.
Select your .mobi file and click Convert. At the top left it will say Input format Mobi. The right hand side says Output EPUB, or whatever your norm is.
Change that to Mobi.
Under Kindle options - Personal Doc Tag.. Delete [PDOC]. Save your file. It should now show up in your Kindle library and open in the app.

For best formatted reading on Kindle device or Kindle app, convert any ebook format to .azw3 or .azw2 ; This can easily be done using CloudConvert.com in case one doesnt want to install Calibre... Trust this helps.
