Hey guys,

I know alot of you are pros at this so I'll ask my question.

Is it normal for the Nexus 5 to get hot while charging via a USB car charger? I recently purchased a belkin Car MicroCharger, and the phone gets hot while charging. Could this damage the phone?

Thanks for the coming advice.

It is normal for a smartphone to get hot when plugged into a charging socket especially if it's still being used. It will be get hotter than usually especially if you are using a GPS app. However if you are just charging it and it gets excessively hot it could be a problem with either the charger or your device.
