If it does not belong anywhere else and has to do with Android post it here.

Hey everyone,

I registered today because i thought i wanted to share some thoughts with you all.

I have been watching the boards for a couple of weeks and have been observing that almost every uploader only uploads the files to rapidshare and megaupload. I have been experiencing problems with these sites on my HTC Hero. The countdown scripts doesn't seem to function properly and either halt halfway or not beginning the countdown at all.

The solution for me has been mediafire which neither has irritating captchas or countdowns. It's also a lot more mobile friendly. I have been posting many mediafire mirrors on different boards simply because i think RS and MU sucks on my device.

Now for the quick and easy way to download apk's to your android devices:

Things you need:
* Firefox (Already using it, right?)
* Mobile Barcoder plugin for firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/da/firefox/addon/2780)
* Any QR barcode reader for your android device (I'm using Barcode Scanner)

Things to do:
* Install firefox and the extension.
* Go to the site that contains the file you want on your device (Preferably Mediafire as i pointed out)
* Hover your mouse over the Barcode icon in the statusbar to generate the barcode (Check the link to the extension to see what i mean)
* Capture the barcode with the Barcode Scanner software on your phone and open the link in your browser.

With Mediafire the download can begin in less that 20 seconds using this method. This is way easier than transferring files by cable or bluetooth.

I hope you find it useful. I know i did.

The thing is most heavy warez users have either a rs or mu account or both. Like myself on my home computer I go through about 25-40 gigs a week between the two accounts...and without being a paid user I would not be able to get anywhere close to that.

I have used the HTTP File Server program to run a quick and dirty web interface for FTP using the software here:

HttpFileServer - http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/

And then browsing that in Firefox I use the barcode addon to make a link and scan it on my Hero

Mobile Barcoder Firefox Addon - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2780

Barcode Scanner Android App - http://apps.androidtapp.com/barcodescan ... 170723/app

Pretty easy to setup. I prefer to download to my PC so I have a copy for later rather than straight to my Hero. Hope this helps.
