This is my way to install apps on my htc desire:

Dropbox is a server on the internet with 2 Gb free space. It syncs automatic with a map on your computer. Here you could put the .apk files you downloaded via mobilism.

step 1:
Create dropbox account on:
Code: Select allhttp://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTk2MzY0NzQ5

(gives you 250 mb extra space)

step 2:
install dropbox on your computer

step 3:
create a dropbox map via the software just installed

step 4:
put an apk file in the "public folder"

step 5:
Install dropbox on your mobile and connect to your account

step 6:
search for the apk file in dropbox on your mobile (make shure everything is in sync)

step 7: install the apk

Just to add, if you are on a public computer(college or something) you can skip steps 2 and 3 and just upload the files using the uploader on the dropbox website. And also step four is not necessary since all of your files are viewable on the android regardless of whether they are in the public folder or any other.
