Hello everyone, I do not know if there is a similar topic, but I have a big problem and I need your help.

I have HTC desire, with stock Andorid 2.3.3 and I recently installed the official Facebook for Andorid 1.7.2 app. The main problem is that the application consumes an enormous amount of data, about 11 MB per day, just checking and retrive inbox message, nothing special.
I really did not know how it take soo much data, I installed ZDbox and 3G watchdog to be able to follow what he's spending data,
but unfortunately I just realized that it consumes too much data, especially when I know that others spend up to 3 times less for the same thing.

Does someone maybe know how to reduce consumption data? thank you 8)

How long is your Refresh Interval in settings?

in the beginning Refresh Interval was set to "30 minutes", but I saw that the application download huge amount of data, so I soon set to "never". After that, consumption dropped to its current level, which is between 10 and 15 MB per day, with no upload or download anything.

It is not so much a problem about 15 mb, but it is unclear how the iPhone and other Android devices like Wildfire can still stay at around 3 mb per day with identical usage of Facebook.

Please , what should I do to reduce it somehow?

You have probably already fixed the issue, but I wanted to suggest that you uninstall the official Facebook app and install a 3rd party app such as FriendCaster instead. They are typically ad-supported free versions, but they still do not use such a massive amount of data.
