To be perfectly honest, common sense. I really don't think you need an antivirus on your phone just yet.

There just aren't enough viruses (as far as I know there are actually none), malware, false apps and other malicious content for Android for there to be need for it. Maybe in a couple years this will change, but a realtime antivirus for android right now is overkill. Maybe just having a scanner that you can use on some files if you think theyre suspicious makes sense. Moreoever keep in mind that an Android phone is nowhere near as powerful as a PC. The antivirus will use a lot of resources, mainly CPU and your battery. Antiviruses on PCs can analyze files and determine whether they might be malicious based on heuristics (rather than signatures only), but I dont think any Android antiviruses can do this or do it well because the devices are much weaker.

Just purchased AntiVirus Pro from the store with a simple thought that why should i take even 1% chance !! You never know when a virus might just trickle down your device & either destroy or burgle your precious data !!

My moto is simple ... Have Peace of Mind & Enjoy your device !!

I think u hit the nail on the head and i would apply this common sense to windows also ...

but u could just search the market there are plenty of apps that are free and good for av and then of course theres the paid ones . all up to u but like disk4mat said theres no need for one if u use common sense !

most of the android a/v apps are just bloated along with features I never use like anti-theft, etc. features like that might be good for ppl who are careless with their phones. I use a combination of dr. web anti-virus light and LBE Privacy Guard (requires root).

Yeah I haven't encountered a reason to use antivirus on my phone yet, but since I like using Avast on my PC I've decided to use their mobile antivirus app, mainly for it's theft protection. Plus it's the only antivirus app I know of that uses root access, which seems like it would gain more security :/

Kaspersky from this site, because it I use a genuine version on my pc's and found to be reliable.

I'm not too concern with virus/worms but more so for the malware that say would used my phone
to make 900's calls ( costly calls ) without my knowledge.

Imho, as far as the device getting stolen, i don't keep personal data's ( except contact ) and i find
the likelihood to be physically recover impossible.
