There are a lot of frustrations when it comes to patching/cracking the SVOX language packs. Here is a solution to the infamous "license check fail" message

You will need the following tools: Root Explorer, Lucky Patcher


Steps:

0. If you have any language pack trials installed previously, uninstall them first.
1. Install SVOX Classic TTS from Play Store
2. Install language pack trial (for example SVOX Pablo Spanish trial)
3. IMPORTANT!!! Run the language pack trial to obtain the additional data
4. In Root Explorer, go to /data/data/com.svox.classic.langpack.xxxxxx_trial/shared_prefs/ (xxxxxx represents the name of the language pack)
5. Edit settings.xml.xml , change the 3rd line to <string name="endTime">9923491325</string>. Don't forget to save
6. Change the permission of "settings.xml.xml" file. Check the boxes of "Read" for Owner and Group. Uncheck other boxes.
7. Change the permission of the "shared_prefs" folder. Check the boxes of "Read" for Owner and Group, and "Execute" for Owner, Group and Others. Uncheck other boxes
8. Now, run Lucky Patcher
9. Select the language pack, click Open Menu of Patches, select Change Permission and Activities, select Change Permissions!
10. Select INTERNET. When the word INTERNET becomes Red, click Apply (Reboot)


Now, you have the trial that ends in year 2284




EDIT: Some devices may have a different directory structure. For example in I9000, the settings.xml.xml file is located in /dbdata/databases/com.svox.classic.langpack.xxxxxx_trial/shared_prefs/

it can be in another directory. try searching for "com.svox.classic.langpack"

Works perfect for me...

Weird thing, lucky patcher has a custom patch for the Language Trial Pack - English US - Alice - but it doesn't seem to do anything...

Other than that, it says trial until 2284 so... success!

cannot open it. force close classic and language pack always show retry internet access. so plz.

galaxy tab 7 plus is my android.

it works for me with greek lang. in samsung galaxy s3

Works like a charm - just as written (ROM - CM7), although endomondo does not recognizes trial language packs for audio coaching...

I got it to work. To avoid the "Unable to connect. Please make sure that you have an active internet connection..." problem, only do Steps 1 to 7.
