Image

Pocket Dictate features record and playback dictation using the buttons on the Pocket PC. For ease of use, operation is designed to closely mimic that of old style dictation recorders. For example, you record by holding down the record button on the side of your Pocket PC. Release the button to stop. To continue from where you were press it down again. You can also playback, rewind, insert or overwrite as required using the keys on the front.

Here another alternative Dictate Software :
http://rapidshare.com/files/44672332/pdictate.zip.html

Pocket Dictate lets you dictate with a palm sized Pocket PC. You dictate directly on your Pocket PC using the buttons on the unit. When done, tap send and the dictation will be compressed, encrypted and sent to your typist by email automatically.

The software is designed to have all the features you need as easy to use as possible and reliable for day-to-day operation. If you install Pocket Dictate you will quickly find it will replace your old dictaphone and, by using the internet to send dictations, will improve the turnaround on typing.

Release Tester's Review

Tested/Working on: PPC 2003, WM5
Not tested on: PPC 2002, 2003SE, WM6
Rating: Originality: 7/10 - Quality: 8/10 - Performance vs similar products: 8/10 -- Average: 8/10
Comment: This tiny yet powerful dictaphone application adds everything you need for recording and playing back dictation. It can be easily assigned to a hardware button for easier and faster recording. Pocket Dictate can export recordings as wave files, encrypt them and send them by FTP or as attachment of email. It has internal volume controls for playback and recording and has the ability to load audio files (even MP3) and record at the beginning or to the end of file.
Precious Undo/Redo actions are prepared to go back and forth through changes. Also a comprehensive help file and tutorial is included.
The quality of the recorded files are good. File management is easy and better than some other tools in this category and easy recording by holding the assigned hardware button and releasing it to stop recording makes it a very handy dictation tool.

Has anyone be able to setup the mail function? I tried my lavabit.com account, but unfortunately it didn't work. Pocket Dictate was able log into my account, but sending the file as attachment gave me an error.
