HTC HD2 Android 2.3.4
Hi Ponrepo
I am working on a stable first (non-Beta) version for release in the coming week.
The Wild Flowers problems are FIXED. Th in the new release I will post this week.
The 's' in 'index0s.txt' is a mistake. Rename that file from' index0s.txt' to 'index0.txt' (you guessed that, didn't you!). The Wild Flowers data seems to go wrong at times (this is fixed for the next release)
Minerals Topic. This was never part of NX-1. This is (will be) part of the Nature Explorer-2 program. NX-2 will have other topics like Meteorology, Fossils, Gems, etc. I hope to be able to create an Android version of NX-2 also.
I WONDER IF I COULD PUT ALL NX1 and NX2 topics into one program??
In the next release I have split the index file groups into 2 types: Easy and Expert. The 's' will signify an 'expert' group menu. This will allow experts to see expert menus and Beginners to see Easy menus (of groups). This is a App 'setup' option similar to the option where you can choose to view either Latin names or 'Common' names.
CONVERTING OLD PPC DATA TO ANDROID DATA
The data which you may need to use for the new program is text files in CZ language. These files will need to be converted so that the Android App can read them without errors. Android is a much tighter system than WinMobile is and so files from the old program can cause errors and display problems (it inserts extra blank spaces between letters). Android seems to have problems with Unicode UTF-8 text format, sadly.
We need to be able to use our older text files so I have created a small converter program that will convert your non-English text files to work correctly with Android. This converter will be released with next version release, also.
All other file types will remain usable but all files MUST be in lower-case text. This is because Android is case-sensitive. So I have converted all English files to lower case. I will give instructions for converting files to lower-case text in the next version release too. So having the files in your own language shouldn't be problematic.
