New Android Release:

Aviasoft Nature v3.0 and new database v3.0

http://forum.mobilism.org/viewtopic.php?f=399&t=407490

Note 1. This release gives Android users Zooming on images (either by pinch-zoom or normal buttons).

Note 2. The new database is for this release only (Android and PC). It includes larger images (for zooming) and an on-device Database Editor which allows users to import pictures and edit the texts on the device.

I am still working on the WinMobile version to allow it to use this new database.

I have renamed the program Aviasoft Nature for a coming change. :)

The database says access denied. Any chance of putting it on mediafire or something else?

So sorry for using the rapigator file server. Some people like it.

I have posted an easier link (Hotfile.com) for the database in the main post. ;)

Hi Sarah,
great job!
I'm testing the PC version.
Not yet completed the download of the new data base but with a fake wildherbs and the old data I can run it very well.
Some minor glitch.
- Wildherbs and Reptiles have wrong image menu (bottom right) of Fungi (shape and capcolor).
- Fossils have wrong image menu coming from insects.

Tks for all your work.

Hi Amedeo

Thanks for testing. I am shortly releasing the WinMo versions. WinMo versions won't have zooming but should have the ability to maximise the images and also to 'fit-to-screen' the images.

Windows PC - Nature explorer
Hi all: just a quick comment: I'm testing W8.
After installing the frame, NX runs very well (and a lot faster) in compatibility mode.

I am surprised. I have read that windows 8 stops programs from accessing data on the hard drives.

How are you finding W8? It looks pretty awful to me.

Sarah,
I'm using a sort of "test release" with dual boot.
I could find Aviasoft folder, launch the application in the emulation environment, being notified that framework is needed, autoinstalled it and RUNS!
Very well, very fast.
Other programs could not be found (eg. all Microsoft Office running on W7).
The system is extremely fast (also IE 10) but the interface is more game-oriented than application oriented.
Lot of possibiliteies to work with images (see, send etc NOT work on it) ,sounds, mails , socialnetworks, search into the web....
From time to time I launch it, trying to discover something interesting but when it comes to real PC use, W7 is still the best! (for me)

Amadeo

I am using dual-boot W7 and XP at present. I suspect that Windows 7 will remain the serious PC o/s for some time to come. Win8 will probably be another 'Vista' with the best version coming after W8 (Windows 9) when they've ironed out bugs and annoying features (like the lack of a traditional Start button). But I guess touch-screen computing is the future.

For some reason when I run the app, I cannot get past the "specify SD-card path". I get an error when I click done. I am sure I have the right root and dscard names. There error states:
"An error has occurred in sub: main_btnroottest_click (java line:1344) java.lang.NullpointerException Continue?".
If I click yes I get back to the screen to specify sd path.

I can call up the menu via the options button > menu, but when I click "show" I get another error:
"main_populatetabview (java line:2868) java.lang.RuntimeException:Object should first be initialized (Scrollview). Continue?"
When I click yes nothing happens.

What is going wrong?

It is strange you are getting two major errors. This makes me wonder if it is something else than a bug.

What device and android version are you using? Also what is the root and path you want to use and is it external (removable) memory or some other device memory?
