Depending on which region of PSone ROM you have, I would select the country specific too it. (Japan, USA, Europe.)
Make sure HLE mode is disabled too, it bypasses BIOS.

;) cheers Awesome! i will try this but can you tell perfect web site for ...downloading iso roms for PSX .? would be glad

Hi there, could you explain me how to compress the image? Should I just select the Rip Xa Streams to MP3 option only?
Thank you very much!

It's very easy to use PocketISO.

1. Select your disk image.

2.Use normal compression, FPse isn't compatible with the maximum compression setting.

3.Analyze the image.

4.Now this is were you question is (hopefully) answered. Yes, that's what I would do. But it does decrease the sound quality. (.WAV > .MP3)
I can't remember where, probably somewhere on the FPse forums. But I read that ripping the Xa streams to MP3 should allow certain games to achieve smoother frame rate. Also, the MP3 can be committed to system RAM, which means that even if your game lags, the music should still hum along. Either way, it's a safe bet, so long as you're not worried about clarity. I honestly don't know what the last option would even do.. But I never claimed to have all the answers.

*I dug around and found the thread I was looking for, this is taken from the FPseCE Forums

this one include New Fixes for better compatibility.

This Tool can be used with any version of FpseCE, but all its features will be usefull especially for FpseCE 0.1!

The First aim of this tool was to reduce size of ISOS, the first Feature is the Compression, let Normal Compression set because FpseCE work better with it. The second Feature is the ability to find, extract, erase, replace or Compress any Media File.
I don't recommend to rip Videos except if you don't mind this content, but keep in mind that Much games need the original Video in place because they read somes Datas included in each videos sector to synchronize with something else.If you still rip Videos, you will obtain Size gain but never obtain speed gain.
About Audios Streams (Called XA Stream), PocketISO is able to Rip XA Stream and even compress them into MP3. The Advantage is that FpseCE will just read into memory the MP3 and then will play it without sound Stuttering even if FpseCE don't run full speed... The Other Advantage is that forcing XA sound to 0 will Boost Game at about 20-25 Percent.

352MB down to a convenient 108MB.
Viola! A pocket sized ISO :3

Btw, my personal favorite place to download ps2/ps1 roms is http://psxhaven.com/ It's got just about everything, including screenshots, trailers, ROM info, CRC, etc.
But it does require you to register on the forums, and post an introduction before you gain full access to the forums.
The download method is a little tricky for newcomers but it's the way to go for sure. All files are hosted on (mostly) Gmail, which means that the files almost never removed, and it allows for simultaneous downloads, it's also fast.

Here's a tutorial taken from PSXhavens tutorial section, demonstrating how to download from a Gmail account, with Mail Resender:
I also recommend taking a look at the other tutorials if you get stuck on anything.: http://psxhaven.com/index.php?pid=33
