Use "Location Spoofer" (free) to bypass the GPS cr@p and blackouts. I set my location to the UK.

Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Check Allow mock locations

Non-Rom'd & Sprint Network...

It looks like that solution should work on my unrooted unromed droid x. I base that assumption off of the fact that the location spoofer has successfully fooled google maps :)

EDITScratch that. Although it acts like it's trying to load the Vancouver v Florida game, it pops up an error than says "Sorry, this video cannot be played". Not sure what that is all about..... Any ideas?

Worked for me on a rooted Bell Samsung Galaxy S running on TELUS... I kept getting an annoying message about not being able to be able to determine location because the GPS signal could not be found (but it was up and running and GPS Stat found 10+!)

but Location Spoofer got rid of the issue and avoided blackouts...

Was also having awful green, pixelated video playback that was unviewable (sound worked fine) - I just changed the settings from Normal to High and the video played perfectly... I've only tried it on wireless because I don't want to kill my data plan...

Any idea how much data streaming af ull game would take?

Not a huge fan of the video on this app. Couldn't find location with GPS enabled, worked with Wi-Fi, then didn't work with Wi-Fi, then did work with GPS. Has been working with Spoofer.

NHL App: Settings -> Blackout Restrictions -> Get Location (should be your spoof'd location).

You're not getting a blackout'd error though. Make sure the games are actually playing. It took forever for it to update, for it to be real-time, so that the video would be live. Why the %&# do you have to change a setting to show the score?! Who wouldn't want the score to show?

I may just load the premium version to listen to the audio at work.

Me! I tend to record some games and then watch with a 30-60 minute delay... I don't want to know the score in that case!

That's a good reason to not show the score :D

Well tonight the video is working (see my previous post). I am using the location spoofer suggested above and have tested the video feed on wifi and 3g: both are working for the kings game currently.

I should note that this time I went into the app settings after spoofing my location and clicked "detect location" or whatever that button says. It showed the spoofed location at that point. This is the only step that varied from my test the other night.

I'll continue to test and report back

And tonight this isn't working on the Sabres game or the Caps game. My conclusion is that this app isn't worth the headache. I'd rather just find a link online that streams the games using flash.

Where did you spoof to? Also were you using wifi or 3G?

It seems to me that the video plays when it wants to, but only with location spoofing. I have put my location as london and sometimes I can get video and sometimes I can't. I really have no clue what the reasoning may be.

Here's something else that doesn't make sense. Yesterday I allowed the app to collect my actual location. Then I asked it to play the Flyers game: it refused. I force closed the app using estrongs file explorer, spoofed my location and tried again; it played this time. Now if I lived in (or even near) one of the two cities involved in that game it would make sense.... But I'm not even in the same state as either of those teams.... I just hope that I can get it to stream correctly in the future....

One final note. The radio feature is incredibly unreliable. I had far better luck grabbing a radio program like wunder radio and just finding the local station to stream. The nhl app version cuts out a ton.

for some reason i can't watch any videos, i just get the nhl logo spinning like it's loading, i've let it sit for over 5 minutes next to the router over wifi.
