I wonder why so many people are still requesting serial for the 1.2.7 version when they can download 1.4.0 without any trouble with serial numbers!

so. i didnt realize there was a newer version.. just downloaded version 1.4 on my phone but I can't seem to get a serial code to upgrade it. I noticed that on the first post, it says to just input any serial number and it should work but I'm not sure how to do that. If anyone could help me, I'd really appreciate it.
