Hi,

2$ is a very reasonable price and I would have loved to pay that kind of amount if I had a way to do it. I do appreciate your work and effort put in the app developement. Could we get some alternatives in order to be able to purchase the application through a different channel than the android market?

Just to let other folks know. You can buy VLC Remote through Mobihand
https://www.mobihand.com/cart1.asp?posid=71&pid=54851

I'm not sure if they are available everywhere in the world, but they are certainly _much_ better than the android market for global coverage.

Your dropbox public traffic will get banned. I had to remove the file from my DB public folder. Actually, then I bought the app through Mobihand as I found it on the developer's site. 2$ + VAT is not worth the hassle and this neat app deservs the few bucks for sure :D.

be fair - the help is for android, iphone and pre. It's the same for each.

re trying it out - there is a free version which lets you check that you can pair/control before purchasing.

and putting that aside, the problem here is almost certainly that your android is unable to talk to the pairing helper on your computer.

this is almost always because

either: you are not on the same local network (e.g. android on 3g, or connected to neighbour)
or: a firewall in your computer, or your router is stopping the two from talking to each other

Well to authors, provide everyone with opportunity to buy it
I like this app s lot but i can not buy it so in my eyes its a fair game. Bill me 1,5€ and ill gladly pay.

This problem gives ios a big advantage over android. Billing and buying there works as it should so more developers are writing quality software.
Until google fixes this and market starts working for everyone sites like this are only source of quality apps and games for a lot of us and you realy cant blame us.
Buying android apps is a big pain in the xxx and until that is resolved we will not see major publishing houses taking android seriously and litle developers like you will have hard time earning any cash due ti copies.

Wish you luck with your development, and ill be sure to update your app on my pone regularly from sites like this until you find a way to bill me without me jumping through hoops to pay for apps ( not to mention usual exchange rate €:$ is 1:1)

I have no use for the app, but is it even legal to charge for this? VLC is an open source project - aren't you building an add-on to it, which would require being GPL'd?
