The learning curve is steep but 8pen could be faster than Swype in the long run. I'm enjoying it but does anyone know why apk sizes differ between this one and the one the market app reports to be about 2x the size?

So 8pen updated yesterday, with themes, a new layout, and an additional qwerty keyboard built in (for when you get frustrated trying to learn how to use it I guess? lol).

If you had the previous 8pen on before it won't update though, they readded it to the market for 99c.
