GREAT work! I have been waiting for this a long time.

Is there anyone that will create a HVGA version with Danish and EnglishUK?
(Including Danish/Norweigen keyboard and English keyboard).

I have found both languages and .png's using the toturial, but have failed to make it work. The app installes fine, but the settings of the app can not be opened, and when I try to use the app in a message the keyboard just bliks for 1/100 second and hides.

People, you should make swype package with all available languages... From that package it's easy to delete unwanted languages.

That would result in everybody having to modify the file or use it unmodified and waste about ten mb of internal storage

I might consider putting an all language version for all three devices to post one when we made all languages work. Probably monday...

Good news, everyone!

earlier today, i posted a link to gimpsta's htc-ime-mod kitchen, where you can create your custom keyboard mod in a few clicks.
i said "wow, i want this for swype"

so, i talked to him about it. read his reply:

I'm actually about 70% done rewriting the kitchen and moving to a completely different platform. Part of the new kitchen allows for other keyboards to be themed (there will be a handful, at least the ones I can legally host) available to skin but I'm working on a method to theme swype (would require, as you said user uploading a copy they "legally" own)

we already pm'd a bit more about technical details, but you can expect a web-based swype-kitchen where you can customize your keyboard skins+languages somewhere in the future!

so, i followed magla's advice and managed to install Serbian language. works like a charm and i love it! when it's available, i'm buying it for sure. 'till then, here's the apk file with english and Sebian lang's inside - https://rapidshare.com/files/428933165/SWP_SR_EN.rar. it's already signed, but i'm not sure if you'll have to sign it again.

p.s. when you install it, it will say that you have only English and Croatian packs, but don't worry, it's Serbian, i just renamed it to make it work. have fun!

nice! added to the custom section in post #3 - what version is it? WVGA?

btw: you will probably never be able to buy swype, since the swype-guys only sell their keyboard to phone-creators and so whole phone-modells come with or without swype. the semi-official swype statement about warez is "hey, its okay if you warez our software - the more people use it the higher the pressure on phone-creators to implement it"

I'm new here, just reading in the silence and I thought it was time for me to contribute with something but without success. I'm on a Desire and looking for Swedish language but I'm not able to pull this one off

Tried to get Swedish language from other 2.x-versions on the forum and successfully added it, signed and installed - but I the "DB error" here as well.

I also tried this version http://forum.mobilism.org/viewtopic.php?f=426&t=144157 without success, and also pull the language files out from it to your version in post #1 - no success here either. Later I noticed it's the same files as the checksum are the same - my bad!

Then I noticed your post about the newer version:

Tried to put the Swedish language in here as well but in this version the language won't even show up in the language selection list.

i did download it. the counter must not be updated. this was my process

force closed swype
renamed swype.apk to swype.bak
copied your version to /system/app
rebooted
installed swype.apk, application installation was successful but i got force closing on process.com.swype.android.inputmethod. just reporting what i got.
