How do you guys strip the languages out of this .apk?

I would like to just have the English (US) language.

I am pretty happy my first test version works on both x10 and even droid X. I am a bit surprised to be honest, since that didn't work with 2.4

You see the old keyboard layout, because I used the old keyboard graphics.

About the landscape issue:i will look into this tomorrow, but I need to know, if the keys match the touch input. So, if you press L in landscape, does it hit L, our does it hit K as long as you tap right of L.

@Thomas_BA, it worked just great in my Miles on 2.1 and on leaked Froyo too

@mad-murdock, your test version also worked correctly with the exception of that issue, in fact, I sent some SMSs without any problems.

@rajubd: Please consider this EnglishUS/Czech version for WVGA my thanks - which I'd never say, because it is forbidden by the law of the land

do you guys think it's smart to just upgrade 2.4 swype version with this one, or i should uninstall it and install this version. if i delete all those languages and put in some other, do i need to sign it again with the tool that Mad man provided, or not?

You need to uninstall the old version. You need to sign it again. You really wanna update, because this version is better. It reacts MUCH faster, even faster than the old 1.6, looks a bit better, and my personal opinion is, it also analyses you input better.

To the xperia and motorola folks out there,i plan to work in a proper version for you later today.expect a test2 version.

ah s**t! i can't get Serbian lang to work with this release. i tried to rename Serbian pack in to Ukrainian, but it won't work that way.
any ideas?

if it is rooted, delete system-installation via titanium. if this doesnt work, use adb in recovery. the paths on your device should(!) be /system/app/SomeSwypeName.apk and /data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod/ - copy/backup them, delete them, then install the WVGA version from post1
if you wanna save internal storage space, you can copy the new version via adb (or root explorer) to /system/app/SomeSwypeName.apk, boot the system and activate the .apk via root explorer for installation.

Would it be possible to get the "newer" keyboard layout in the next release or are we stuck with the old one?

I would appreciate very much if you could cut off all languages leaving only English UK & Polish there

Read my tutorial here. i asked the mods if i can add this tutorial to post #2 on this thread (in a slightly modified version). but following that tutorial you can create your own custom version.
